My Opinion: Just As Good As the First One

I approached Bloodlines with some nerves, as a fifth installment could easily feel like overkill. However, I'm glad they made it. I’d argue it’s just as good as the first one.

The original Final Destination set a new tone for horror: no killer, just fate. Bloodlines captures that tension and creativity while building on the franchise's legacy. It avoids being overly meta or modern and focuses on what made the series great: suspense, paranoia, and brutal deaths.

I wasn’t disappointed at all. If this is the last chapter, it’s a fantastic one. If they decide to continue, I’ll be in the front row.

Review of The Chi Season 7, Episode 1
Grade: C

Season 7 of The Chi kicks off with a slow burn. Episode 1 felt more like a warm-up than a full sprint — the pacing was sluggish and it didn’t deliver the punch many fans might’ve expected for a season opener. That said, this is The Chi — a show known for building tension, layering storylines, and hitting hard when it counts. So while this episode didn’t quite land with the impact I hoped for, I trust that it’s laying the groundwork for something deeper. The real drama is coming, and when it hits, it always hits hard. I'm locked in — just waiting for it to go in like I know it will.

In "Sinners," Michael B. Jordan impressively portrays twin brothers Elijah and Isaiah Cade, who are shaped by the same trauma but follow very different paths. Elijah is a tormented preacher clinging to his faith, while Isaiah is a rebellious outlaw who has rejected it entirely.

Jordan skillfully transforms between the two, altering his posture and speech to reflect their contrasting personalities—Elijah is introspective and burdened, while Isaiah is full of fire and fury. Their interactions are authentic, filled with tension and unspoken pain. Rather than relying on gimmicks, Jordan creates well-rounded characters that challenge and complement each other.

In short, Michael B. Jordan doesn’t just play Twins in Sinners—he embodies two souls locked in a tragic, spiritual duel. It’s riveting, emotional, and easily one of his most ambitious roles to date.
