A multi-day storm system will move across the Southern Plains into the Mississippi Valley from Wednesday evening through Friday, bringing periods of thunderstorms along its path.
🔹 Wednesday Night into Early Thursday:
Storms are expected to develop from west-central and eastern Texas into Oklahoma as an upper-level disturbance moves through. While instability will be limited, strong wind shear may allow a few storms to organize. Isolated strong to marginally severe storms are possible, mainly producing gusty winds and small hail.
🔹 Thursday:
The system shifts east into eastern Texas, Oklahoma, the Ozarks, and the Lower/Mid Mississippi Valley. Storms may remain elevated, which should keep the severe threat on the lower end. However, isolated strong to locally severe storms will remain possible, with gusty winds and marginal hail the primary concerns.
🔹 Friday:
As the system continues east, a larger warm sector is expected to develop across parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley. This may allow for scattered to more widespread thunderstorms, with a continued risk for organized storms. While the system does not appear overly strong at this time, damaging winds and hail will be possible, and a conditional, low-end tornado threat cannot be ruled out depending on how surface features evolve.
📌 Overall, this looks like a low to locally moderate severe weather setup, where small changes in timing and placement will matter. Many areas will simply see rain and thunderstorms, but a few stronger storms could occur along the system’s path.
Stay weather-aware through the end of the week and continue to monitor updates as details become clearer.
