Date: Saturday, September 05, 2026
Reference: Fatal Traffic Accident

On Saturday, September 05, 2026, at approximately 6:12 a.m., the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center received a report of a motor vehicle accident on STH 32 at Valley Line Road in the Town of Gillett.

Oconto County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency personnel responded to the scene, where they located an overturned SUV and its operator, a 47-year-old male from Suring, Wisconsin outside the vehicle.

A preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling north on STH 32 when it entered the east ditch, struck a driveway and overturned. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office, is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. No additional information is being released at this time.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Town of Gillett Fire Department, Gillett Area Ambulance Service and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Reference: Fatal Traffic Accident

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, at approximately 2:48 p.m., the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Yarwood Road in the Town of Gillett. The vehicle involved in the accident was an antique tractor.

Oconto County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency personnel responded to the scene, where they located the overturned tractor and its operator, a 33-year-old male from Gillett, Wisconsin. The operator died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

A preliminary investigation indicates the tractor was traveling north on Yarwood Road when it entered the east ditch and overturned.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office, is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. No additional information is being released at this time.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Town of Gillett Fire Department and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
