I enjoyed a salad like this at a tropical-inspired restaurant. I tried to get the staff to give me the recipe but had no luck. So I went home and created my own! I will sometimes drain a can of mandarin orange slices and toss those in as well. —Shirley Turpin, Williams, Minnesota

VIETNAM WAR VETERANS DAY | We honor and thank our nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice. 9 million Americans faithfully served during the Vietnam War. In 2017, The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act established The National Vietnam War Veterans Day to be celebrated each year on March 29.

At every U.S. Air Force Band concert we have the opportunity to look out into the audience and thank veterans of every war for answering their nation's call to duty. Behind these men and women are the families who supported and sacrificed alongside their loved ones.

Due to safety considerations there may not be many public ceremonies for National Vietnam War Veterans Day but please thank and acknowledge a veteran in your community today and throughout the year.
