Hey, it's Alexander here — writer and sometimes man-on-the-street for If I Can't Dance Club. I've been fighting with Meta behind the scenes for actual weeks to get the page to say "If I Can't Dance Club" in title case, as opposed to sentence case. There's a way to do it from your page settings, but it just kept giving me an error. I wore them down until they said they would do it if I posted a status alerting our less than one hundred followers of "the change". I'm serious. Here's proof, actually.
They originally wanted me to provide a press release stating our name change from a reputable news outlet, or documents that prove a change in location or ownership. If I Can't Dance Club is not a business, and I think this says a lot about the capitalistic monetization of hobbies. Rainbow and I are not "on that grindset". We don't make money off of this, and we never will. Sometimes it's fun to do things for fun. For the community.
We are in an era where social media doesn't only accommodate those who are trying to make money, it's actually specifically geared towards them.
