Sponsored | Void Salon Celebrates One Year in Ogden

One year ago, Ogden resident Alysse Gray opened Void Salon with a vision: to create a space where artistry, individuality, and community could exist side by side.

This month, Void celebrates one year of creativity, connection, and transformation.

Over the past year, Void has welcomed guests through its doors for everything from quiet maintenance to bold changes, helping people feel more like themselves through intentional hair and beauty experiences.

Beyond the salon walls, Void has had the opportunity to connect with the Ogden community through local events, creative gatherings, and conversations with the people who make this city such a vibrant place to call home.

In its first year, Void has:

✨ Applied more than 2,000 strands of hair tinsel- just a sprinkle of magic.
✨ Offered dozens of complimentary bang trims and neckline cleanups at local events.
✨ Participated in a monthly art market since September.

Most importantly, Void’s first year has been shaped by the people who walked through the doors, shared their stories, and trusted the team with their transformations.

Thank you to the Ogden community for welcoming Void and making space for a salon built around creativity, inclusivity, and self-expression.

Cheers to another orbit.

For 27 years, our community has swung into action to keep families safer, gathering on the green to support victims of domestic violence at the annual YCC Family Crisis Center charity tournament. This year’s event, held on Thursday, July 30, at Wolf Creek Golf Course in Eden, brought together more than 30 sponsors and dozens of four-person teams dedicated to making a life-saving impact.

YCC was founded in 1945 by five women in Ogden who recognized the need for support in the community for women struggling with post-World War II issues, single parenting, grief, loss, marginalization and limited job skills.

Today, this legacy continues through events like this annual tournament, which provides essential funding for YCC’s crisis intervention, advocacy and education services to help women, children and men impacted by family violence.

The center serves people of all ages and provides 24-7 care to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, including a crisis shelter and child care.

This beautiful boulevard: Theater, live jazz, outdoor concerts, art strolls, markets, arcades, tea, bagels, thrifting, bars, beer, book, pizza, plants, coffee, cocktails, comic books, cuisine, food trucks, and more things to do all around the ‘vard in Ogden — take a walk (or the trolley) beyond Historic 25th Street down Washington Blvd., from the iconic Ogden Sign at the Riverwalk on 18th to Lee’s Mongolian BBQ on 29th, and support the many amazing businesses along the way who took a chance on a dream and opened up shop along Ogden’s less famous main strip. It deserves the buzz.✨🫶🏽

Ad Break! It’s National Farmers Market Week, and the numbers back up what regulars already know: farmers markets do more than sell produce.

Nationally, nearly half of shoppers say they connect with someone in their community when they’re at the market, and close to half end up shopping at nearby local businesses while they’re there. Farmers Market Ogden is part of that same pattern: a weekly reason for the community to show up, talk to a neighbor, and support the people growing and making things locally.

National Farmers Market Week runs August 2-9. Come out and celebrate the vendors who grow it, the volunteers who run it, and the visitors who show up week after week to make it what it is. They’re the reason the market works, and they deserve the thanks. 🫜🫶🏽
