6 years ago today, a bunch of people "raided" area 51 It happened after a guy named Matty Roberts created a Facebook event encouraging people to raid Area 51 (as a joke) which 2 million people signed. Only a couple thousand people actually showed up, they just stood at the gates jumping around and making noise. But the threat was taken seriously but the US military and they allegedly spent $11 million in preparation.
