This is a young Fred Rogers with Josie Carey, host of The Children's Corner television program that was broadcast weekday afternoons on WQED in Pittsburgh from 1955-1961. The program preceded Mr. Rogers Neighborhood that was also broadcast from WQED and aired nationally for 50 years on PBS and its predecessor, the National Education Television (NET) network. Carey was the host of The Children's Corner, with Rogers the head writer and puppeteer. You can read more about it in my new book, Conversations on The Neighborhood, available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

It will also be available for purchase at my next book talk and signing tomorrow (Wed., Nov. 8 at 5:30 pm) at the St. Marys Public Library.
