https://fredsportsextra.com/?p=8858 Sooners and Horns depart Big 12. As of today, it is now expected that the Big Twelve will be defunct by the end of Spring 2022 and the eight teams will scatter into other conferences. Here is my take on where the schools will end up by the Fall of 2022.
I never played any sport in highschool or college. But the days I caught for the Cleveland Bulldogs, and the Taft Exporters in the old Y-League were golden. The Bulldogs went to State and lost. The afternoons on fall Sundays playing sandlot football at the park on 39th and Shartel for the Phi Lams vs the AO's, Delt's or Kappa's was equally golden, and gave me the impression that I was "Saturdays Hero" for a short period of time. Hunting quail, pheasant or chukker in the cold of fall was a magnificent experience in Oklahoma, Kansas , Texas and Nebraska, as was King Salmon fishing in Alaska and Striper fishing at Texoma, with my 17 year old son. Playing golf at all the British Open course's, Lincoln Park,Cedar Valley and Lake Hefner, Earlywine and the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club was a treat. I never got a level lie at Twin Hills, but always enjoyed the experience. The rounds of golf every Saturday with the likes of Bill Burkett, Joe Shackford, Pete Bradford, and others was always a hoot. Now, being 85 and leveled with a stroke, it is difficult at best to lay golf or go hunting. It has never dimmed my love of sports however, and I watch the latest "Saturdays Hero's" with great admiration for their talent and ability. Do I love sports? I can't wait for the next Cowboy, Sooner game, or the PGA or Masters Tournament to begin.
Really? Barry Trammel should stick to writing hateful greeting cards. We do not value his opinion today have never have. What a way to gain attention!
