Sliptrick Records recording artist Mudd Flux, and the debut album "Light The Skies Electric" now available for CD pre-order.
FB CREW - YOU WAITED !!! Here it is - in the next few weeks I’ll be posting excerpts from my intended book ..... “Exposure, Perception, Perseveranc”. These lessons are from myself that I learnt from everyone I’ve ever worked with in this business. Their not to cause malice, response or opinion. They are to be of help, to assist, guide, enable, teach, enlighten, understand, advance, provide, empower, project. They won’t be in any certain order, they will be on varied subject matters, they can be utilized in life as well as business and it won’t cost you a dime. That’s the best part for a musician! Thank You. I Love You All ! SALUTE ! LESSON 1: MY HOUSE - MY RULES. LESSON 2: What you know let go over your head - what you don’t take in. LESSON 3: The artist that thinks they know it all - was taught by someone. LESSON 4: There’s a fine line between Confidence and Conceitedness - cross it and I’ll let you know. LESSON 5: I don’t give a s**t how good you are - if your drunk and not on time -your no good to me! LESSON 6: TO CREWS/STAFF ARTIST/GROUPS/ASSOCIATES “GROUND RULES" 1) MY HOUSE - MY RULES 2) DON'T EVER LIE TO ME ! 3) Each person always assist under.. “Joe Burris -Gilead Productions” 4) Each venue is - OUR OFFICE, Treat it as such - each person at that office is a member of our team - “you hit on the water girl, she’s dating the sound man and he jacks us up! “Don’t S**t Where We Eat!! 5) LEARN - and We will learn from you. 6) Stay out of band politics - ALWAYS ! Don’t speak to others of band politics - less is more. 7) DO NOT -promote/sale/impose/solicit/misrepresent/hamper band-staff-managers-venue owners-team. 8)You represent YOURSELF’s as well as Joe Burris,Gilead Productions - BAND - VENUEs -as well as any other concert/artist/venue we're involve with. Don't bring attention to yourselfs 9) If I’m not there - BAND LEADER is in charge. 10) DRESS - LANGUAGE - PERCEPTION - is a character of who you/we are, as a person,a group, an image. 11) TEAM - its a business - treat it as such! 12) If you don’t no - don’t say you don’t no - say I’ll get right back to you on that. 13) If your approached by ANYONE with questions/opinions/cards/prospects/excetra regarding the band immediately place them with me or the proper channel at that time. 14)Do not advise house production of ANYTHING from ANYONE on the team unless okayed by Myself or (in most cases)- Leader of the band. 15) TEAM - we will assist you with ALL THINGS music/sales/P.R./merchandise/marketing/management/promotions/performance/lighting/touring/negotiations/wording/excetra 16) NO YOUR LIMITS - NO YOUR POSITION - GO THROUGH CHANNELs 17) Let your work talk for yourself. You don’t need to climb over someone’s back to get somewhere 18) Don’t talk about another musician- you may be in their band next week. 19) Don’t talk about someone’s gig - at least they have one! 20) Confidence with Humbleness make great company. 21) And the most important rule - RULE NUMBER 1 ! P.S. And have Fun, who gets to do what we do! LESSON 7: "BAND LAW" An Artist/Groups Job is - 1) What time - Where at 2) Play clean (sober) 3)Be a rock star 4)Have fun 5)Create 6)Take pics 7)Sign autographs 8)Shake hands 9)Kiss baby's 10) HAVE A BLAST ! The rest is.... MY F-ING JOB ! LESSON 22: Never burn bridges if you can’t swim, understand the situation and always avoid business with them because you never no whom may be behind that door in the future you need to have open. Plus all your doing is placing them on a platform and negating all the positive your hard work accomplish and who no’s how long this will roll. I.e. (LESSON 17: Let your work talk for you). I.e. (LESSON 6: LESS IS MORE) All you do by placing your BAND business on social sites be it political/religious/personal or the groups is set up civilians and the industry with an opinion - AND CIVILIANS DON’T HAVE A F-ING OPINION ! They never sat in their room for weeks on end with no instructor to learn their instrument. They never learn to hustle for monies to buy needed equipment, they never received a thousand no’s and just 2 yeses and of those one person’s on the wrong rung of the latter he thinks he’s on cause he drinking and that becomes a no BUT... we receive that one yes and celebrate it like a new Les Paul at Christmas!! BUT... When civilians hear all you talk about they expunge on it and by the time you get back from Wally World your wife’s telling you everything that was said plus the bulls**t because that person wants everybody to think they’re in with the band. LESSON 23: Faith only shows itself so many times in a career - the difference is if your eyes are open to recognize it and it doesn't pass you by. LESSON 24: Business is - Where business is. It waits for no one or nothing. LESSON 25: God isn't going to part the clouds so a small ray of sunlight seeps out and down into your front bay window to shine a spot on your head that then makes you famous. NO - you and your team is what makes that happen !
