Exceptional Blue Whale encounters today!! It’s totally rare to have this species behave so friendly. Typically Blue Whales are very focused on feeding and not too interested in coming over to say “hi”. But this whale made repeated passes directly under us! Please remember this is with the boat’s engines off and not moving. A few times a year we get to see whales initiate these special encounters. Total sightings today were 4 Blue Whales which included a mom and baby pair.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Patience is the name of the whale watching game. This week, we were floating in neutral when these 5 humpback whales decided to feed next to us and give us an up close look at the magic of bubble net feeding!

The group included well-known individuals: Bounce, Ravine, Sanchal, Pleats, and Crown! 🐋🌊

*We wanted to make sure to note that engines were in neutral during this encounter. Captain John is a proud participant in Whale SENSE and follows responsible whale watching guidelines.
