I have been trying for many years to get your carrier to put my paper at my door. I live on a hill. I am 84 years old. I have a bad back. Can’t get down the hill. Can’t count how many times I have called with this request over the years. Your Promises are not kept . Papers pile up in my yard until a family member comes along to gather them up to trash them. I have given up. Told phone people to STOP MY PAPER. They ask for another chance and offer to extend subscription free of charge. Never happens. I give up. You win STOP MY PAPER!!!!

Can I get an update on the Lone Oak Park project? There was a press conference stating the park would open in 2019. Of course, I understand Covid has delayed any work. I would like to see a plan for the future park. I see Tabor Homes is building a housing edition in the area. I am just wondering what's up with the park project.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 19, 2021 JUSTICE REFORM ACTIVISTS TO ADDRESS ONGOING ISSUES AT COUNTY JAIL Local advocates for justice reform will hold a press conference at 12:00 PM, September 20th at the Oklahoma County Office Building, 320 Robert S. Kerr Ave., in front of BOCC Meeting Rm. 204 to address ongoing issues at the OK County Detention Center. Death, violence, and criminal neglect have become a weekly occurrence at the Oklahoma County Detention Center, which is the worst in the entire nation. Last Tuesday, detainee Leo Alexander Destea died after testing positive for COVID-19 (the second County Jail COVID-related death less than a month). One day later, a 19-year-old guard was arrested for willful neglect of duty in connection with a brutal June 3rd physical and sexual assault involving several jail detainees. These are not isolated incidents, but indicative of a pattern of neglect, abuse, and mismanagement that has resulted in an average of over one death every month. Since the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority (OK County Jail Trust) assumed control of the OK County Jail on July 1, 2020, conditions have steadily deteriorated. Despite consuming 40% of the county's yearly budget, the jail continues to be a modern-day torture chamber, with a mortality rate over three times higher than the national average. Yet instead of taking simple proactive measures to reduce the jail population, provide basic fundamental human needs to detainees, or implement proper mental health and medical programs, the Trust, aided and abetted by the OKC Chamber of Commerce created Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Advisory Council (CJAC), has instead focused on an aggressive agenda to build a new jail at a cost of $150 million to taxpayers. Until they have proven that they can be good stewards of taxpayer dollars in the current facility, that discussion is at best premature, and quite likely unnecessary once jail population reduction and reform have been achieved.
