Looking for a fun family event and a flexible summer care option for the kids? Mark your calendars for the 2026 Summer Kickoff on June 13 at Lakeshore Center at Okoboji!

While you're there, take the opportunity to tour the facility, meet the team, and learn more about their Summer Day Camp Program running June 15–July 31 for children in grades K–5.

Flexible summer care options:
🕗 Monday–Friday | 8 AM–5 PM
🙌🏻 Attend by the day, week, or all summer
😁 Perfect for childcare gaps, visiting grandkids, or keeping kids engaged during summer break

Tonight we had the pleasure of meeting the new owners of Tropical Sno in Arnolds Park, and they were incredibly kind (especially through all the indecisive order changes 😉). They have a new page, so make sure to follow them—Schmidty’s Tropical Sno!

Our crew’s orders:
😝 Ryker – All the sour flavors with the sour sugar topping
🍋 Dax – Pink Lemonade
😋 Dad – Root Beer with vanilla and cream topping
🤤 Mom & Crue – Captain Jack

The cream and sour toppings were both new to us, and they definitely did not disappoint! If you've only ever ordered the classic flavors, consider this your sign to try one of the specialty toppings!

Stop by and grab lunch (plus breakfast for the next day!) No registration, no cost, no stress… just show up!

Who is eligible? ALL kids 18 and under. No matter what district you attend — or even if you’re just visiting for the summer — everyone is welcome.
