Public Statement Regarding Chris Colson

The Bangor Daily News has recently published an article addressing long-standing concerns related to Chris Colson. For some time, we have advised caution without disclosing specific details, out of respect for the privacy of the family member who first brought this matter to our attention. With the information now publicly available, we wish to reassure the community that Mr. Colson is legally required to reside in a facility in Lewiston, as revealed in the article, and not living in our area.

While the content of the article is disturbing, we have chosen not to share it directly here. Our priority is to keep the community informed while avoiding the circulation of distressing material.

In addition, we will be delivering a formal Cease and Desist letter at Mr. Colson’s upcoming court date in January to ensure that The Old Town Grinch trademark remains fully protected under Maine law.

We remain committed to safeguarding both our community and our brand. While we dislike giving further attention to this matter, we believe it is necessary to provide clarity and reassurance to those who may have concerns. We trust this will be the final occasion on which his name must be addressed publicly.

Looking forward to seeing the kids at Orono tomorrow. We asked local authorities where a good location would be a last year we missed half the busses. This year we should be able to surprise them all :)

This week, our plans will be to wish the kids at Orono a Happy Vacation on the 18th. We are aware if the last day before vacation is the 19th but we are booked during that time period so I had to compromise lol On the 19th We will be heading over to OHI for their Holiday Party and later that evening, we will be at The Main Tavern from 9-11 for the Ugly Sweater Contest, so grab that sweater you don't want people to know you have and head on down for some fun and "Christmas Spirits." Clearly, that is a 21+ event lol. The following day, we are going to be heading to the Bangor Area Recovery Network for their holiday party. We will be rounding out the year as we always do, wishing the kids at OTES a happy vacation on the 23rd. So we have about 1 week left.

I am sorry I haven't been out in town much, but due to an injury that I am still getting treated for, it takes a few days of recovery after the weekends. Hopefully next year, with the NRIs and poking and prodding, I will be back to full strength and be able to be out on the street corners of Old Town to give an unexpected smile to the everyday drivers :D

We had an absolute blast at the Stillwater River Trail Little Free Library #42955's Stillwater Festival of Lights. Thank you as well to Emma from Downtown Old Town for coming down as well to show some inter-city support for the owners of A Touch of Grace Flower Shopper, an amazing shop in Downtown Old Town. This family has always been wonderful and we can not recommend the trail or their shop enough. The Grinch believes in rewarding people who give to the community, and this family does that in abundance. Merry Grinchmas to them and again, thank you for having us this year :D

What an absolute blast. It was wonderful to be a part of this amazing light extravaganza. We can not reccommend making this a part of your holiday plans enough. We went on our own earlier this week to enjoy the sights, and I was awestruck at how breathtaking it actually is, especially when you look at the "off-path" decorations illuminating the night, as well as the path itself being covered with hundreds of thousands of lights. We really hope you all take an opportunity to enjoy this, and we can't thank the family that runs it enough for giving us some very special memories.

We got 119 made... well, 120, but we split one to do a "Taste test." (OK we just really wanted one lol) We will be handing them out as the night progresses to people that stop by to say "Hi" or ask for a photo at the Stillwater River Trail Little Free Library #42955 Lights on Friday. We are starting with a single heart (Only a few) then to two hearts, and ending at the three hearts in the photo to "Have the heart grow three times that day."

These are mostly for the kids, but if there are any left over as the night progresses, we will switch to "While supplies last" around 6:30. It's one per person though, as we want to try to get as many people a Grinch Cookie as possible lol Limited budget when we do everythoing at our cost and don't take money for appearances. It's our little holiday gift to our community :D
