Took another stab at 46k. My third time being here and it never gets easier.

Was happy to start conservative cause I knew that second lap takes souls. ☠️

Descending down the first lap, I was tripped by someone trying to pass me and took a nasty spill. ✨BUT NEVERTHELESS I PERSISTED✨

Held on for a top 10 finish, so I can’t complain too much. This race is tough, but that’s what makes it so fun.

This was the start of a 3-month mountain build as I get ready for and the A race: CCC.

I finally finished the pilgrimage from China Wall to Auburn.

It went better than imagined to Drivers Flat, running in 8th-9th place throughout the day. Then the quads said no mas and it was a struggle to the finish line.
BUT I DID IT.

Half of the battle leading into this was mentally being prepared to take on the race I previously dropped…. twice.. As well as navigating injuries leading up to the event.

But I can’t help but fill satisfied with a 20th place finish. A lot went right and I’m proud of myself for not giving up. I had a blast running with for 45 miles before sending him on his way to a 7th place finish in an unreal starting list of elites.

It’s time to focus on races that suit my strengths instead of trying to prove something to myself.

Thanks to for always being in my corner. And the love of my life for crewing as always. Now let’s get her home so she can graduate with her Masters Degree 👩‍🎓.

Gravel is a state of mind. 
 
Who sticks to just one surface? The ones missing out, that’s who. Running is meant to be limitless. Go left, go right, climb higher, or dive lower. Start in the city, end up in the middle of nowhere. The destination doesn’t matter – you don’t even need one. But what you do need is a pair of shoes that can take you there and back, no matter what terrain you encounter.

5th place at 100k 🇿🇦

Wow. What a place, what a race. I never thought I would visit this part of the world. But now, all I’m thinking about is when am I going to come back?

I was proud of myself for starting conservative (maybe too easy..), and moving through the pack in the second half. I can confidently say I felt good throughout the whole race, so that’s a win in of itself.

I’m nowhere near satisfied with another 5th place finish. But at this point, I can’t quite be mad at it.

There’s so many people to thank here. As always, my partner in crime is literally the greatest crew chief ever. It’s a performance-enhancing drug just having her there. Love you babe ❤️.

Huge thanks to for driving Erica around and also for helping crew! Y’all were the dynamic duo out there.
