A tornado warning is in effect until 9:30 PM for parts of Webster and Bossier Parishes, including Springhill, Cullen, Sarepta, and Shongaloo. This storm is moving east at 35 mph. If you’re in the warned area, take shelter immediately.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH ISSUED UNTIL 10 PM

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for portions of North and Northeast Texas, including the DFW Metroplex and areas east including Paris, Sulphur Springs, Gilmer, and Canton

Storms are expected to move east-southeast through the evening. The primary threat will be damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, which could bring down trees and power lines. Hail up to 1 inch in diameter will also be possible with the strongest storms.

The Fort Stockton to Hobbs area has always been one of my favorite places to chase. There really haven’t been many tornado opportunities in that part of the world this year, so I haven’t spent much time out there lately. Looking through old photos today and came across this one.

Flashback to April 1st near Vernon, TX. One of the most photogenic storms I’ve seen in Texas this year. The structure on this supercell was unreal. We ended up intercepting a very brief tornado just south of the Red River shortly after this.
