In response to the massive identity theft affecting people in the U.S., Canada, the UK, and beyond, I successfully froze my credit with Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. It only took about 10 minutes, and it was easy and free! While I can’t say this will completely protect my identity, at least I can have some peace of mind knowing I took a step to protect myself.

And if you ever need to unfreeze your credit, it’s as simple as logging into each website, clicking unfreeze, and answering your security questions. I highly recommend doing this if you haven’t already done so!

Nearly 2.7 billion records containing personal information of individuals in the US were disclosed on a hacking forum.

"On April 8, a cybercriminal group by the name of USDoD posted a database entitled “National Public Data” on a dark web forum, claiming to have the personal data of 2.9 billion people, according to the complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, which said the group put the database up for sale for $3.5 million.
This happened in April, folks. We are just now being told about it. Contact your bank TODAY to protect your accounts!!

Jerico Pictures Inc., a background-check company doing business as National Public Data, exposed the personal information of nearly 3 billion individuals in an April data breach, a proposed class action says.
