Rachel Bickerstaff was sentenced to 140 to 180 years in prison for recklessly driving intoxicated at high speeds through downtown Omaha, causing a crash that killed four people, including three of her own children. Rightfully so, a judge denied her request this week for a lesser sentence. THANK YOU, JUDGE!

Reckless driving isn’t just dangerous, it’s deadly. When you drive recklessly at high speeds through downtown or anywhere for that matter, people can die. Please, slow down, don’t drink and drive, and drive carefully. Lives depend on it.

This morning, Special Operations Group (SOG) investigators located a stolen F250 pickup truck in a parking lot in the area of 97th and West Dodge Rd. The vehicle was occupied, and SOG investigators and Road Patrol Deputies attempted to surround it and initiate a stop. The driver of the stolen vehicle, not wanting to be apprehended, rammed a cruiser and fled the area. SOG and Road Patrol Deputies initiated a pursuit eastbound along Interstate 80, until the suspect crossed into Iowa. The Council Bluffs Police Department took up the pursuit at the state line and continued until the vehicle's wheels quite literally fell off.

Clarence BROWN, age 43, was arrested and booked into Pottawattamie County Jail on charges of:
✅ Driving on a suspended license
✅ Being a fugitive from justice
✅ Eluding while exceeding the speed limit by 25 MPH+
✅ Interfering with official acts
✅ Theft - possession of stolen property

✅ Theft by receiving stolen property
✅ Theft by unlawful taking
✅ Operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest
✅ Assault on a peace officer

DCSO will be writing an arrest warrant to have BROWN extradited back to Nebraska to face charges in Douglas County.
