Sometimes the most important garden work is not planting or harvesting - it is removing what should not be growing there 🌱
Today, I spent time pulling weeds around the vegetable beds to help the plants grow stronger and healthier.
Many weeds may look harmless at first, but they compete directly with vegetables for water, sunlight, and nutrients in the soil. If left unchecked, they can slow plant growth and reduce harvest quality over time.
One reason many gardeners remove weeds regularly is because younger weeds are much easier to pull before their roots spread deeply into the ground. Keeping the soil clear also improves airflow around plants and can reduce hiding places for certain insects and pests.
In countryside gardens, weeding is often one of those small jobs that never seems to end, but every clean row of vegetables is the result of many hours of care behind the scenes.
Healthy harvests usually begin long before harvest day arrives 🌿🤎
Every future harvest grows from today's care and patience.
