SMPS Nebraska The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) is a community of marketing and business development professionals working in the A/E/C industry.

A/E/C marketing professionals in Omaha did not have many avenues for marketing education or the opportunity to network with peers. During the summer of 2000, a few industrious individuals formed a committee to start a Nebraska Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). The Nebraska Chapter of SMPS held its first meeting during September of 2000. The official Charter was awa

rded in November of 2000. Since then, SMPS Nebraska has grown to over 60 members from 33 companies in the Omaha and Lincoln Metro areas. The SMPS organization was founded in 1973, and was the brain child of 6 persons working in various cities across the United States. One of the key founders was Lyle Trease from Omaha, Nebraska. Although the organization was created to a large extent in Omaha, the organization office followed Lyle as he changed locations, and eventually became based in Washington, DC. Although a local Nebraska Chapter was discussed, and even attempted, at various times, the Chapter did not become a reality until the year 2000.
