I’ve been MIA for a while, and unfortunately, it’s not because I’ve been off doing something exciting or productive. 😂

The truth is… I’ve been struggling. Hard.

Depression, stress, and overwhelming anxiety have been kicking my ass lately. I’ve been couch rotting, avoiding everything, accomplishing nothing, and then—my personal favorite—feeling guilty for accomplishing nothing. ✨A flawless system.✨

The hardest part to admit is that I haven’t been as present or patient with my kids as I want to be. I love them more than anything, but lately I’ve felt like I’m physically here while my brain is buried under a mountain of stress, anxiety, guilt, and exhaustion.

I haven’t known what to post because Codi’s Chaos is supposed to be about real life—and this IS my real life right now. It’s just not the cute, funny, relatable kind of chaos. It’s the staring-at-everything-I-need-to-do-until-I-do-absolutely-none-of-it kind. 😅

I wish I could end this with an inspirational “I pulled myself out of it and now I’m thriving” moment.

I cannot. 🫤

I’m still dragging my ass through the depths. Some days are better than others, and some days simply existing is about all I’ve got.

But I don’t want to stay here forever.

I know I need to purge a lot of negativity from my life—my surroundings, my habits, what I give my energy to, and probably a whole bunch of things I haven’t figured out yet. It’s an ongoing process, not a magical overnight transformation.

I just hope that sometime soon I start feeling like myself again. More present. More patient. More functional. Less like I’m surviving life and more like I’m actually living it.

So… I’m still here. Still struggling. Still figuring it out. Still trying—even when “trying” looks suspiciously like lying on the couch staring into the void.

Maybe Codi’s Chaos needs to make room for this kind of chaos, too. 🖤

Bee took this photo while I silently screamed, and loudly objected to them both doing flips off the back of the couch.... 400x or more. Enjoy how absolutely trashy me and my life have been. This is just my reality right now and that's gonna have to be ok til I can figure out how to fix it. Also, I don't have a black eye.... I just haven't washed my face in a few days and my eye bags have eye bags 🫩

POV: My dishes are piled up. My bills are due. I'm still unemployed. My house isn't spotless, and life definitely isn't all together.

But today...

✔️ I scheduled my doctor appointment.
✔️ I finally booked the MRI I've been putting off all year.
✔️ I set up therapy.
✔️ I lined up three job interviews.

No, it doesn't fix everything.

But sometimes progress doesn't look like getting your whole life together. Sometimes it looks like finally doing the things you've been avoiding because you've been in survival mode.

Today wasn't perfect.

It was progress.

And that's enough for me.

Side note- I was gonna try and post a video today, cause I put in makeup and brushes my hair for the interview this morning, only to discover there is no evidence left to prove I looked decent today... So I made this video instead, while looking for tiktok filters that would possibly make me look like I was cute... This is all I could manage. Enjoy.

If Brazen is my tiny feral Appalachian king...

Then Brystol is my woodland princess with a strong sense of justice.

This child can be the sweetest, most polite little thing you've ever met.

She says please and thank you.

She worries about other people's feelings.

She'll check on you if you look sad.

She'll tell you she loves you seventeen times before bedtime.

But don't let the sparkly dresses fool you.

This girl will absolutely call somebody out if they're being rude.

She might whisper it.

She might say it politely.

But she's gonna say it.

Brystol lives her life according to one rule:

If she likes it, it matches.

Rain boots?

Perfect.

A straw hat?

Obviously.

The fanciest Christmas dress she owns?

Required.

The fact that it's July?

Irrelevant.

Fashion is an art and she refuses to be constrained by society's expectations.

She's fearless in the ways that make my heart stop.

Jumping off furniture?

No problem.

Climbing things she definitely shouldn't be climbing?

Easy.

Trying something new?

Let's do it. Unless it's food, she'll starve before she tries a cooked vegetable.

But a moth?

A moth is apparently a terrifying flying demon sent to personally ruin her entire day.

She's curious about everything.

Always asking questions.

Always learning.

Always imagining.

Always turning ordinary moments into adventures.

Somehow she's both wildly independent and deeply affectionate.

A tiny angel one minute. A tiny attorney representing the forces of justice the next.

And every day I get to watch her become exactly who she is.

Confident.

Kind.

Strong.

Passionate.

And always ready for an adventure.

Beautiful inside and out.

My sweet girl may be a princess, but she's the kind who saves herself. And I couldn't be more proud to be her mommy ❤️

I'd feel like I failed if my kids ever "come out" 🌈

Because straight kids don't have to "come out" they just bring their new partner over and introduce them to the parents. So why would it matter what gender that individual is?

If one, or all, of my kids ever felt the need to...confess?? Is that the right word?? Their preferred partner's gender I'd feel like I've made it into something they feel like is wrong, therefore they have to "admit" it to me.

How effin weird that we ask our kids to come tell us their sexual or relationship preferences 😂 I just don't understand.

Now, when they're an appropriate age, if they wanna have a coming out party, regardless if they're gay, straight or somewhere in between, mama is always down to have a party 🎉

I truly just hope they find love and happiness and support, and I hope they always know they will always be perfect, and adores, and respected by their Mommy 🩷🩵

I have two children.

One is thoughtful, creative, and mostly understands cause and effect.

The other is Brazen.

Brazen woke up this morning and chose chaos before his feet even touched the floor.

This child approaches life with the confidence of a man who's never paid a bill, never experienced consequences, and firmly believes every object in this house belongs to him.

Baby gate?

Challenge accepted.

Closed door?

Personal insult.

Cup with a lid?

Needs immediate investigation.

He moves through life like he can handle anything, convinced the world exists solely for his entertainment.

No fear.
No hesitation.
No backup plan.

Just vibes and poor decisions.

Every day I find myself saying things I never imagined would come out of my mouth:

"Please stop kicking that."

"That's not food."

"Body art is not allowed until you can spell your name, drop the markers!"

"How did you even get up there?"

And my personal favorite:

"Dude, absolutely not."

The wild thing is that right after he's caused his 47th household emergency of the day, he'll climb into my lap, give me the sweetest smile I've ever seen, grab my face and give me violent and slobbery kisses, maybe even hum a little tune for me, and suddenly I forget that he spent the last hour trying to speedrun toddler destruction.

Parenthood is a strange experience. Especially with this one.

But I wouldn't trade my tiny feral Appalachian king for anything. ❤️👑

Just in case I wasn't clear before...

This page is going to be rooted in chaos.

If you're looking for perfection, spotless houses, matching outfits, luxury vacations, or moms who seem to have it all together, you're probably in the wrong place.

There's currently a small trampoline in my kitchen because sometimes I don't have the energy to drag everyone outside, and my kids still need to burn off energy.

There are dishes in my sink because at midnight I got a random burst of motivation and decided making popsicles and Chick-fil-A copycat chicken sandwiches sounded more important than cleaning.

There are toys all over my floor because I've decided following my children around cleaning up behind them all day is a losing battle. They'll undo it in 30 seconds anyway.

The curtain rod behind my couch is broken because my kids were playing peekaboo and got a little too enthusiastic.

My 15-month-old son, Brazen, lives up to his name daily. If there is a boundary, he will find it. If there is a rule, he will test it. If there is a questionable decision to be made, he's already halfway through making it.

My 5-year-old recently turned a forgotten piece of Styrofoam packaging into what can only be described as an indoor snowstorm across my office.

And if I'm being completely honest? I haven't put on an actual shirt in almost a week because I've been home with my kids, breastfeeding, and a nursing bra is easier.

This is the kind of chaos I'm talking about.

Not the cute, quirky, "Oops, someone left a shoe in the hallway" kind of chaos.

The real kind.

The exhausting kind.

The beautiful kind.

The kind filled with dishes, laundry, tantrums, laughter, messes, tears, milestones, self-doubt, and unconditional love.

I'm not here to pretend my life is perfect.

I'm not here to polish the rough edges.

I'm here to tell the whole story.

The good days.
The bad days.
The victories.
The failures.
The grief.
The growth.

My kids are happy, healthy, fiercely loved, and some days that's the biggest accomplishment I have to offer.

And honestly?

That's enough.

Welcome to Codi's Chaos. ❤️

Nobody really tells you what breastfeeding takes from you.

They tell you it's beautiful. Natural. A bonding experience.

And it is.....

But they don't always talk about the sleepless nights. The cracked skin. The constant worry. The way your body no longer feels like your own for months—or years.

They don't talk about being touched all day and still being needed all night.

They don't talk about watching your hair thin, your hormones shift, your energy disappear, and wondering if you'll ever feel like yourself again.

And when you don't have a big village behind you, it can feel even heavier.

No grandparents taking the baby for a few hours.
No family dropping off meals, or watching your older kids.
No one is stepping in so you can rest.

Just you, showing up again and again because your little one needs you.

Some days it's overwhelming.
Some days it's lonely.
Some days you wonder if anyone sees how much you're carrying.
If they do, they don't care.
I'm alone in this, by my own doing, I guess.

But then there are the moments that make it all worth it.

The sleepy cuddles.
The little hand reaching for you.
The comfort only you can provide.
The quiet reminder that, even on the hard days, you're giving your child something no one else can.

Breastfeeding has challenged me in ways I never expected. It has changed my body, my mind, and my sense of self.

But it has also shown me how strong I really am.

So if you're in the thick of it right now, exhausted and wondering if you're doing enough, this is your reminder:

You are. ✨

And one day, you'll look back and realize that through all the chaos, you were growing too. ❤️

My son's hair contains blended berries from creating homemade popsicles...last night ... and my daughter had chocolate chips for breakfast, which suggests we're managing effectively so far. 🏆

Hi. 👋

I'm Codi.
I'm not famous, or fabulous, or important or special.

I'm a mom, I have ADHD, I'm broke, I struggle with my mental health most days, and my life is usually somewhere between "I've got this" and "what fresh chaos is this?" Because.bipolar 🫰🏼

I created this page because I'm tired of feeling like everyone else has it figured out and I'm the only one like this. There's gotta be someone else in the trenches.

This isn't going to be a highlight reel.

It's going to be the real stuff:
✨ Motherhood
✨ Mental health
✨ ADHD
✨ Finances
✨ Personal growth
✨ The everyday chaos in between

I'm not an expert. I'm just a woman trying to get a little better every day.

If you're figuring it out as you go too, welcome to Codi's Chaos. ❤️
