Goodbye, Betty. Our beloved Betty has passed away. She was rescued in July 2024, in the middle of winter, chained to a house, covered in mud, soaked in the rain. She had never known any other life. We didn't hesitate: we helped her. She was an old dog, invisible to the world. She hadn't known love, freedom, or what it was like to have a bed, food, or fresh water. But her story changed forever. Thanks to the work of the Pack, Betty lived for almost a year in a wonderful family, accompanied by canine siblings like Chocolate, Coco, and Alma, also rescued from the streets of ValparaΓso.
The importance of what we do. It's not about us. It's about them. Every rescue is a life saved, a story that ceases to be one of suffering and becomes one of love. It's a work from the heart, with effort, commitment, and sometimes tears, but always with the conviction that it's worth it. We healed her little soul, of that we are sure. Today we bid Betty farewell with love. We know that these almost 12 months were a lifetime for her. A dignified life, full of affection, warmth, and respect. We know that she now runs free, perhaps alongside Minerva, whom she resembled so much. Maybe they didn't know each other in life, but who knows... the street is vast, and the hearts of dogs find each other where there is love. We love you, Betty. Always.
