Almost five years ago, I started searching for a dog. I found a Craigslist post from a family rehoming their late father’s German Shepherds. He’d been a breeder. The dogs needed homes.

I went there for a specific female. But she was already gone.

They introduced me to her sister — Sabrina. Thin, shut down, unsure of everything.

Still, I couldn’t walk away. Something in her still reached for connection, even through fear.

She came home with me that day.

Now, she’s ten years old — but still acts like a pup. Loves the river. Hikes. Long naps in the sun. She’s everything I didn’t know I needed.

I didn’t just rescue her. She met me where I was and pulled me forward.

Training trips are my favourite 🤩 Both Rexa and karma smashed it, there was a fun fair going on kids, dogs, swans, ducks everywhere, they both done really well 😁 No issues at all from karma with the ducks, swans and dogs, she done lovely heel walking too 😍 A lovely women actually asked if it was ok to say hello or if we were training so I released karma to say hi and she really liked her normally she’ll just walk off 🤣 At the end and by the cars karma could not contain her excitement so Jess had a little play with her but what we didn’t realise is she would run full pelt into her 😅😭 then she had zoomies with it she was just so happy 🥹 Then finished off with a pup cup, all in all it was a really good day 🥰
