Today, we continue Wendy’s story with Episode 2 — a meaningful conversation about complicated grief and the weight of multiple losses. 💚

When grief happens again and again, it can feel overwhelming and isolating. In this episode, Wendy shares more about what it’s been like to carry layered loss, the exhaustion that can come with it, and the importance of allowing grief to exist without judgment.

If you’ve ever felt that your grief was harder, heavier, or lasted longer than others expected — this episode is for you.

🌱 You are not alone. We grow through this together.

Today, I’m honored to share a conversation with Wendy, centered on complicated grief. 💚

Wendy has experienced the loss of multiple people over time, and her story reflects what happens when grief begins to stack — when one loss hasn’t had time to heal before another arrives.

In this episode, we talk about the emotional weight of repeated loss, the exhaustion that can come with it, and the compassion it takes to honor grief that doesn’t follow a simple timeline.

If you’ve ever felt that your grief was “too much,” too long, or too hard to explain — I want you to know that your experience is valid.

🌱 You are not alone. We grow through this together.

This episode continues a conversation that is very close to my heart. 💚

In Episode 2 of my journey, Michelle and I go deeper into how early loss and trauma can shape us long after the moment has passed. I share more about the emotional impact of childhood experiences, PTSD, and the quiet ways grief and trauma can linger beneath the surface.

This episode isn’t about fixing or rushing healing.
It’s about understanding, compassion, and allowing space for growth over time.

There is still more ahead — but this episode is another meaningful step.

My personal journey through grief.

Co Hostess Michelle Karren

I’m used to being on the other side of the conversation — listening, guiding, and holding space for others. This time, with the help of my dear friend Michelle, the questions are turned toward me.

In this episode, I begin sharing my story. Not all of it — just the beginning.

I talk about losing the grandparents who raised me, about experiences of abuse and neglect, and about the trauma that eventually led to PTSD. I also begin to connect those early experiences to my physical body — including a childhood injury that would later contribute to my journey toward total knee replacement surgery.

This episode is the foundation.
There will be a Part 2.
There will be deeper conversations — especially about my father.
But for now, this is where my story begins.

If you’ve ever wondered how grief, trauma, and the body are connected — or how healing unfolds over time — I hope this episode helps you feel less alone.

🌱 We grow through this together.

This week has marked an important step in my recovery 💚
After my total knee surgery, I’m now walking with a cane — a moment that reflects strength, persistence, and the steady work of healing.

Recovery has reminded me that progress isn’t always fast or easy, but it is real. Each step forward carries intention, courage, and trust in the healing process.

If you’re walking through recovery of any kind — physical, emotional, or both — I hope this update offers encouragement and reassurance. 🌱

Today’s episode is a very personal one for me. 💚

As I prepare for an upcoming total knee replacement surgery, I wanted to share a conversation that focuses not just on the physical side of healing — but the emotional and mental preparation that often goes unspoken.

In this episode, I sit with my EMDR therapist and walk through the process of preparing for surgery in a trauma-informed, grounded, and compassionate way. We talk about fear, safety, control, and how EMDR can help regulate the nervous system before a medical procedure.

If surgery brings up anxiety, old memories, or a sense of vulnerability for you, I hope this episode reminds you that your emotional experience matters too.
