Not every idea hits… and that’s okay.
I brushed my teeth with mayo — and didn’t go viral 😅
Here’s what I learned about content creation, pattern disrupts, and staying true to yourself 👇
🎭 Viral Content, Pattern Disrupts & Staying True to Yourself
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from being in and out of content creation, it’s this:
👉 Burnout is real — especially when you’re constantly chasing viral moments.
And while things like pattern disrupts and formulas can work, they’re not the full picture.
⸻
📌 Pattern Disrupts: What Happens After You Get Their Attention?
Yes, we want people to stop scrolling. Yes, a catchy hook or shocking visual can help.
But… what happens next? 🤔
If your video catches attention but doesn’t deliver something meaningful — connection, story, value — it may come off as misleading.
Worse, it might not attract the right kind of audience for your brand or business.
⸻
💬 A Reminder From Creator Hub Live
At Creator Hub Live, Adley mentioned two things that really stuck with me:
1. Everyone has a formula
2. Everyone also has 100 bad videos 😅
That hit hard. Even with a formula, not every video will land. Virality isn’t guaranteed.
So why pressure yourself into constantly doing things that feel unnatural — or exhausting?
⸻
🪞My “Mayo” Moment
The other day, I thought brushing my teeth with mayonnaise would be funny and scroll-stopping.
It was weird. I did it. It didn’t go viral.
And honestly? That was fine.
It reminded me: I don’t need to rely on gimmicks to get people to watch me. I like dancing, transitions, lifestyle videos, even voiceovers — and those feel like me.
That’s where I want to build from now on.
Not from a place of “shock value”… but from authentic value.
⸻
🧠 Not All Attention Is Good Attention
Some creators go live for hours doing nothing but blowing up balloons or pretending something wild is going to happen.
You stay for 30 seconds and realize… it’s nothing. 🙃
Sure, some people stay — but ask yourself:
Are those the people you want following your brand?
Are they going to buy from you, trust you, or engage with your message?
Probably not.
⸻
🔁 Formulas Are Tools, Not Rules
There are formulas. There are frameworks. And sure, they can work.
But your business, your energy, and your audience are yours. What works for me might not work for you — and vice versa.
You don’t have to copy what everyone else is doing.
And you definitely don’t have to do things that go against your values, style, or vision.
Some people win doing crazy, wild, out-of-the-box stuff.
Others win being low-key, minimal, soft, and subtle.
And both are valid.
⸻
🎯 Final Message:
Stop obsessing over the next viral idea.
Start building something that actually feels like you.
Because the truth is: people can feel authenticity. And they stay for it.
⸻
❓Now you tell me:
What kind of content do you actually enjoy creating — even if it’s not “viral”?
