Ahhh, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. When Disney says “plant-based what now??” 🫠
I will save my rant for my blog post which I’m about to update, but over time we are losing plant-based/vegan options and it’s hard not to take it personally (not me personally, but vegans, on the whole). This year the black and white cookie was made Mickey-shaped and no longer plant-based and instead we got that holiday classic: Cranberry Oatmeal 🥴 (I did actually enjoy this but it could be an anytime cookie and feels out of place with the festive non-vegan options imo)
🫔 The tamale returns again this year, and I actually had to do two takes on my video because it was so cold and dried out I almost choked 😬 the second attempt wasn’t much better. Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good corn masa with filling. This is not it. If they are making these in bulk ahead of time, they need to ensure they don’t get dried out and cold.
🥔 Latkes also return and were the one bright spot of the evening. They are perfectly seasoned and well cooked. I would eat 100 if I could. It would be nice to have something else to go with them.
🚫 🥜 Peanut stew, which used to be a favorite had slowly gone down in quality, with the rice and grains getting crunchy and weird over time, but I still loved the sauce and flavors. So I’m bummed it’s gone.
🌰 And the nuts that we have all year are back as well as roasted chestnuts, which I do enjoy but I think they are a love it or hate it item haha.
Not mentioning the Raspberry Dole Whip because why is that even a noted option? Nothing holidays about it.
👉 I’ll have more in my upcoming video review and updated blog post which I will share soon! Until then, enjoy the festive decorations, entertainment and atmosphere, and the latkes. 😅
As always, your mileage may vary.
