Let’s face it: we can have a great script, top notch camera equipment, and all of the bells and whistles to create a stunning visual, but sometimes we need the extra umph to our stories and people we can relate to. And some of these stories are simply best told with the help of child actors.

It takes a lot of hard work and craft to breathe life to lines on a page. Without cameras to capture the essence of a story or the expressions from our beloved characters, we wouldn’t have a film to share.

DIFF Spring Showcase 2025 filmmakers!

Thank you so much for sharing your films with us. We enjoyed screening them last April and can’t wait to see where else you share them during your festival run.

We also want to thank you for your patience as we know you are awaiting for the winners to be announced!

We had a big delay with which is the platform we use to not only share your films with the fans, but also our professional and experienced voting committee. Apparently they’ve been having issues with their video distribution platform for quite some time and had been dragging their feet to fix it while making us believe it was being worked on immediately.

Though it was out of our control we still found a way to get the videos out “old school” and make sure they were viewed and voted on! ThisFilmFreewaytook some time.

Emails will be going out very soon and the winners will be announced on our socials shortly after.

Again we thank you for telling some amazing stories in April and we look forward to the new submissions coming in for the January 2026 showcase, now accepting films via FilmFreeway !
