I Turned My Pizza Oven Into Peter Luger Steakhouse
Most people use a pizza oven for pizza. I used mine to make a Peter Luger-inspired tomahawk steak.
The secret is simple: one full stick of butter, fresh garlic paste, and Worcestershire sauce. As the steak cooks, the butter melts into the crust, creating a rich, steakhouse-style finish that tastes like something you’d get at one of the most famous steakhouses in the world.
Recipe:
* 1 Tomahawk Steak
* 1 Stick Butter
* 2 Tbsp Garlic Paste
* 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
* Kosher Salt
* Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
Butter Mixture:
Combine softened butter, garlic paste, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
Directions:
1. Season the tomahawk generously with kosher salt and black pepper.
2. Coat the steak with the butter mixture.
3. Preheat the pizza oven to high heat.
4. Cook until a deep crust forms, flipping as needed.
5. Continue cooking to your desired internal temperature.
6. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
7. Top with any remaining butter mixture and serve.
The crust was insane. The butter rendered into every bite, and the pizza oven delivered the kind of heat most home kitchens simply can’t match.
Would you spend steakhouse money when you can make this at home?
