The first doe confirmed for our 2026 kids is a new addition to our herd—Deuxfleur FN Jayne. She was bred by Deuxfleur GT Cedar, and we’re incredibly excited about this pairing. Jayne is linebred back to The Dakota’s Enough Thistles, a doe known for her strong production and longevity.

Jayne has already been very successful in the show ring, and we look forward to finishing her so she can earn her permanent championship. One of her standout accomplishments is placing 7th in her class at Nationals in 2023 as a dry yearling.

Her dam, Deuxfleur Ninereeds Nobilis, was also a consistent competitor with two Grand Championships and six Reserve wins, along with excellent production—topping out at 17 pounds of milk with an impressive butterfat average.

Her granddam, The Dakota’s Enough Thistles, has likewise proven herself, producing 16 pounds of milk and maintaining beautiful strength and correctness as she ages.

Well, the deed’s been done! Every doe we planned to freshen has been bred, and now it’s a waiting game to see if everyone has settled. As their next heat cycles pass, we’ll start confirming pregnancies. Once we have confirmations, we’ll share more details about each pairing — including the does, sires, and their lineages. Exciting times ahead on the farm! 🐐💫

With just one doe left to be bred, we’re looking at eight does freshening this spring—provided everyone settles! 🐐✨

Mac will have his last bit of fame here before he moves on. He’s left his mark in more ways than one, and I’ll carry a piece of him with me forever—reminded every time I look in the mirror. ❤️
Stay tuned for paired breedings and further introductions!!!

First and foremost — I’m fine!!! 😂

I debated posting this, but if it gives someone a laugh and saves them from making the same mistake… worth it!

Monday morning chores were going smooth — critters fed, coffee still warm, good vibes only. Then I decided to clean out the buck huts and lay down some fresh straw since fall has officially settled in.

Enter Mac, my Alpine buck, currently deep in rut and acting like he runs the farm. He’s blubbering, rubbing, and all up in my space. I usually carry a little piece of metal tubing to keep him from getting too friendly. 😅

Well… apparently I offended His Royal Highness. When I tapped his shoulder with the bar, he took it as a full-on challenge. He reared up, charged, hit the bar — and the bar hit me… right in the forehead.

Didn’t even realize I was bleeding until it started running down my face. Made it to the gate with Mac proudly trotting behind me, totally satisfied with himself. 🤦‍♀️

Clinic staff got a real kick out of hearing I’d been been hit with a bar I was using to protect myself.

Moral of the story: never underestimate a rutty buck. Nearly a decade of goats and they still find new ways to keep me humble.

Pretty sure he just wanted to make sure I’m ready for Halloween early! 🎃👻🍁

Meet Clemendough 🍞
Another little step toward being more self-sustaining here on the farm.

I’ll admit, I was never much of a sourdough fan. But two weeks ago, a dear friend shared a loaf of her homemade bread, and that first bite changed everything. It had such a depth of flavor — not tangy like traditional sourdough, soft, and wholesome — that I knew I had to learn how to make it myself.

So, I booked a day with her to learn hands-on. I’ve always found that I learn best when I can see and do each step, and sourdough is definitely one of those crafts that comes alive through touch and feel.

Now, “Clemendough” is happily bubbling away on my counter, and I couldn’t be more thankful. There’s something so grounding about working with a living starter and knowing exactly what goes into the bread we eat. Sourdough isn’t just delicious — the fermentation process actually makes it easier to digest, gentler on blood sugar, and helps unlock nutrients like folate, iron, and magnesium.

Here’s to slow food, new skills, and that quiet satisfaction of learning something that feeds both body and soul. 🥖💛

It’s that time of year again when Mac (aka Captain Stinky) starts losing all the extra weight I worked so hard to put back on him after last year’s rut. 🤦🏼‍♀️

When the does start coming into heat, the bucks completely lose their minds — pacing, blubbering, and refusing to eat like normal. The hormones kick in and they spend more time chasing the ladies than worrying about food! This year I’m doing my best to supplement feed to help him keep some finish and condition on through the season. So far, he seems to like this mix! 🌾🤞🏻

Here’s to surviving another rut season — for both bucks and humans! 🐐💨

🍇 Elderberry Syrup is officially stocked in the pantry — one of our favorite ways to prepare for the cooler months ahead. Straight from our kitchen to the shelves, this little bottle of goodness is a natural boost for the whole family. 💜

Elderberries have been used for centuries as a go-to remedy for colds and flu. They’re rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and flavonoids that help support the immune system, reduce inflammation, and may even shorten the length of seasonal bugs. Some studies suggest elderberry can also support heart health and overall wellness. 🌿✨

We love having this natural remedy on hand during the fall and winter months. Do you keep elderberry syrup in your wellness routine?
