Obey The Wind Farms made its 2026 show ring debut this weekend at the CDA Fuzzies Goat Show, and what an incredible way to start the season.

Alpines were last in the lineup for both classes, but they proved they were well worth the wait. Our 2026 twin doelings had an outstanding day in both rings, placing 1st & 4th in Ring 1 and 1st & 2nd in Ring 2.

We are especially proud of OTW Farms MCU Veil, who earned Reserve Grand Champion in both rings. This class was kids born from January to April of 2026 and dry yearlings born in 2025.

This moment has been years in the making, and seeing the hard work, dedication, and breeding program come together like this is such a blessing. We’re incredibly proud of these girls and excited for what’s ahead.

Today we celebrate the man behind so much of what makes this farm run. It’s his birthday—and the final day of his 40s. Man, we’re getting old… but as he’d say, “You’ll always be older.” 😉

Happy birthday 🎈to my better half, my ride-or-die, and the bee in my bonnet. You make me a better human every single day, and you deserve all the good this world has to offer. You work harder than most, love even harder, and protect your people fiercely.

I feel beyond blessed that 49 years ago, God brought you into this world so we could meet, marry, and build a lifetime of adventures together. Here’s to celebrating 🎉 you today and all the blessings the year ahead will bring. ❤️

Common theme this year on the farm is chamoise/chamoisee kids. Out of 13 kids born thus far 12 of them are chammy's. We have two does left to kid this weekend and we will have the 2026 kidding season wrapped up. Current count 8 doelings to 5 bucklings.

Colostrum check ✔️🐐🥛

We pulled a samples from every doe so far this year and got a 22% Brix reading or better on the refractometer — and that’s exactly what we love to see!

A 22% Brix or higher means high-quality colostrum, packed with the antibodies (IgG) newborn kids need to build strong immune systems right from the start.

Our kid crop grew from 7 to 12 overnight as 5 new kids arrived on the farm! 🐐✨

So far, 5 does have kidded with 3 more still to go. Current count: 7 doelings and 5 bucklings—and we’re not done yet!

Happy 26th Birthday to our firstborn 🎉❤️

For the past five years, you’ve graciously shared your birthday with kidding season—always stepping in, all hands on deck, helping bring new life into the world. And now, just two weeks ago, you welcomed our very first granddaughter. There truly is no greater joy than watching your child step into parenthood.

Rylee, you taught us everything we know about being parents—we were learning right alongside you. Watching you become a mother and handle every new moment with such grace and confidence is nothing short of amazing… you were made for this.

We are beyond proud of the woman you’ve become. As you step into this 26th year, filled with so many “firsts” with your own baby, we hope you soak in every moment and treasure every gift.

Flashback to kids 🐐 from years past 🤍

A new kidding season is quickly coming upon us, and with it comes joy, excitement, stress, and a serious lack of sleep and patience 😅 — and we are here for it!

This will be our sixth year of birthing our own breedings right here on our farm, and we couldn’t be more excited to meet all the sweet babes about to arrive.
