FEATHERSTON PARTS WAYS WITH INFAMOUS, SIGNS MULTI-ROLE DEAL WITH HONOR FIRST RACING!!
F18 Retired. A New Era Begins Under the HFR Banner.
June 2026 β Overland Park, Kansas
In a packed media room filled with speculation and anticipation, Adrian Featherston officially announced the end of the F18 era and his departure from the Infamous organization during a press conference Saturday afternoon.
The announcement brings an end to one of the most recognizable identities Featherston carried through both NASCAR-style competition and sprint car racing over the last several seasons.
"It wasn't an easy decision," Featherston told reporters. "The F18 number and the Infamous name were a huge part of my journey. There were a lot of memories made, races won and lessons learned. But every driver's career reaches a point where it's time to turn the page and begin the next chapter."
That next chapter will be written with Honor First Racing (HFR).
Sources close to the negotiations indicate discussions had been ongoing for several weeks before an agreement was finalized. The deal places Featherston in a significantly expanded role beyond simply driving race cars.
Under the agreement, Featherston will serve as:
Full-Time Asphalt Division Manager
Lead Setup Engineer for HFR Performance
Driver Development Consultant
Primary Builder of Craftsman Truck Series Setups
Primary Builder of O'Reilly Series (Xfinity) Setups
Primary Builder of Next Gen Cup Setups
The move signals HFR's commitment to becoming a major force in the iRacing stock car landscape.
HFR officials cited Featherston's extensive testing experience, driver feedback programs, and use of advanced telemetry analysis as major reasons for pursuing the partnership.
According to team representatives, all HFR Performance setups will continue to be developed using extensive MoTeC data analysis, with each package undergoing qualifying simulations, long-run testing, and race-condition validation before public release.
"This isn't just about building setups," one HFR representative stated. "This is about creating a complete performance program. Adrian brings the experience, work ethic, and attention to detail necessary to elevate HFR Performance to the next level."
Perhaps the most emotional moment of the conference came when Featherston confirmed that the F18 number would officially be retired from his asphalt racing operations.
In its place, the newly unveiled F22 will become the flagship number representing both Featherston and HFR moving forward.
The new branding, featuring electric blue, silver, and black elements, debuted alongside the announcement and drew immediate attention from fans in attendance.
As cameras flashed and reporters gathered around the newly revealed HFR Performance branding, one thing became clear:
This was not simply a driver changing teams.
This was the launch of an entirely new operation.
With HFR Performance preparing to release setups for the Craftsman Trucks, O'Reilly Series, and Next Gen Cup platforms, expectations are already growing throughout the sim racing community.
Whether the partnership delivers on its promise remains to be seen.
But one thing is certain.
The F18 era is over.
The F22 era has officially begun.
