Welcome to our first edition of 2026, where we reflect on the challenges and triumphs that shaped our communities over the past year. This week, we take a sobering look back at the Village of Elsie’s turbulent 2025, a year defined by financial concerns and departmental struggles, while also celebrating the unwavering community spirit exemplified by the Elsie Masonic Lodge #238, which contributed thousands to the local baby pantry. We’re proud to highlight opportunities for you to get involved, from a lifesaving blood drive with a chance to win Super Bowl tickets to the upcoming 32nd Annual Elsie Lions Club Wild Game Dinner.

On the courts and fields, local athletes made us proud as Ovid-Elsie High School launched the first annual M-21 Classic basketball showcase, with our Lady Marauders delivering a commanding victory. We also honor the memories of community members we recently lost, share essential updates from Sciota and Victor Township meetings, and provide valuable information on winter services and the important work of the Greater Laingsburg Recyclers. As we turn the page to a new year, we remain committed to bringing you the local news, sports, and stories that connect us all.
