I think these primitive pantry jars look right at home in an old pie safe or jelly cupboard…what do you think? 🤎I had so much fun creating this set and giving ordinary jars the appearance of treasured pantry pieces from years gone by. (DIY video is available) The aged finishes, tattered fabric toppers, and vintage-inspired labels bring a touch of farmhouse history to any primitive home.

The mustard and coffee labels are from my sweet friend Tracy at Crow's Feet Bootique on Etsy, and they were the perfect finishing touch for this project!

Join me live on:

I’m thinking something primitive, patriotic, seasonal, mayyybe fall-ish, or simply fun and useful for the home—but I haven’t settled on the projects just yet.

What would YOU like to see us create together? Leave your ideas in the comments! ❤️
I’ll be watching the comments and may choose one of your suggestions for an upcoming live show!

If you can’t join live, replays will be available.
I can’t wait to see what ideas you all come up with!

🇺🇸🧵 A few stitches, a little homespun fabric, and a connection to the past…
Today I finished these primitive patriotic pillows, inspired by the simple handmade treasures that might have graced a farmhouse bench or cupboard shelf generations ago. Each flag was pieced together from homespun fabrics and charming backstitch touches, one of the oldest and strongest hand-sewing stitches passed down through the years.

The worn edges, simple stripes, and hand-lettered details are meant to feel as though they’ve been loved for decades—perhaps tucked away in an old cedar chest and brought out each summer to celebrate freedom, family, and home.

As I stitched these today, I couldn’t help but think about the women who came before us—gathering scraps, sewing by lamplight, and creating something beautiful and useful for their homes. These little pillows are my way of honoring those traditions and keeping a bit of that homespun spirit alive.

😂 Well, this was completely unintentional…
This morning I was making a simple piece of toast and squeezed on a little butter. I wasn’t trying to make anything fancy, but when I looked down, one slice had somehow turned into the happiest little smiley face I’ve ever seen. 😄🧈🍞
Just toast, butter, and a little reminder that joy sometimes shows up when you least expect it!

I guess breakfast decided to start the day with a smile. ❤️

Any guesses on the kind of jelly I had on my toast today?

Imagine a Sunday afternoon sometime in the 1940s.
Dinner has been cleared from the table. The windows are open just enough to let a warm breeze drift through the house. Somewhere nearby, a screen door slams. The smell of fresh-cut grass lingers in the air.
The family has gathered in the living room. Dad is settled into his favorite chair. Mom is mending a shirt or working on her sewing. The children are stretched out on the floor with coloring books or simply listening.
In the corner of the room, the Philco radio glows softly.
Music fills the house.
Nobody is scrolling. Nobody is rushing off to the next thing. There are no notifications demanding attention. Just a quiet afternoon, surrounded by family, sharing the simple gift of being together.
The songs drifting from the speaker become woven into everyday life—so much so that decades later, hearing just a few notes can bring back memories of home, loved ones, and a time that seemed to move a little slower.
As I listen to this old radio today, I can’t help but wonder whose Sunday afternoons it once shared… and how many stories are hidden behind the warm glow of that dial.
🎶 Take a moment, listen, and enjoy the music our grandparents danced to.
