🦃🔥 HAPPY THANKSGIVING, BLUE BRIDGE CREW!!! 🔥🦃
(Yes, THE BRIDGE IS STILL CLOSED. It’s now basically a landmark of emotional damage.)
Owensboro… today is the day we gather with loved ones, give thanks, and witness a level of family chaos not seen since the last time someone tried to turn left onto Frederica at 4:57pm.
Across the city right now, I guarantee this is happening:
• Someone is deep-frying a turkey way too close to their garage 🚒
• A kid named Brayden is jumping off furniture yelling “WATCH ME” with zero backup plan
• Two aunts are fighting over a green bean casserole like it’s custody court
• Someone says “let’s go look at the Christmas lights tonight” like Owensboro traffic isn’t on EXPERT MODE 🌟
• A random dad is outside “checking the smoker” but really escaping the noise
• And ONE PERSON… ONE. PERSON… still thinks they can sneak across the Blue Bridge.
You cannot, Aunt Brenda.
You CANNOT. 🚧
Meanwhile the wind is blowing at 47 mph for no reason, leaves are attacking everyone like ninja throwing stars, and Cracker Barrel is somehow still full.
But listen… in the middle of the chaos, the overeating, the questionable family conversations, and the burgoo debates that turn into small-scale wars…
Owensboro still shines.
Because:
• We wave at strangers like we’re all cousins
• We give directions using buildings that don’t exist anymore
• We defend our BBQ choices like they’re SEC football teams
• And we look out for each other — even when everything around town is mildly unhinged 😄❤️
So from me and my completely unnecessary, physics-defying turkey that’s probably violating at least 6 city ordinances…
H A P P Y T H A N K S G I V I N G, O W E N S B O R O !!!
May your plates be full, your family be semi-normal, and your naps be Olympic-level. 🦃💙
And as always…
THE BLUE BRIDGE IS STILL CLOSED.
This has been your daily reminder. 😆
