For #Pride, we are continuing to celebrate LGBTQ Marylanders by recognizing Justin Vivian Bond!

Justin Bond is a Tony-nominated actor, singer-songwriter, painter, and cabaret performer who identifies as transgender. They have performed on Broadway and at Carnegie Hall, and their memoir Tango: My Childhood Backwards and in High Heels won the Lambda Literary Award for Transgender Fiction.

Born in Baltimore, Pauli Murray was an activist for women’s and civil rights. She was the first African American to receive a Doctor of Juridical Science degree from Yale Law School, and the first African American woman to be ordained as an Episcopal priest.

In honor of #Pride Month, we are highlighting LGBTQ Marylanders!

Divine was an actor, singer, drag queen, and cult figure. Described by People Magazine as “Miss Piggy for the blissfully depraved," he was a Baltimore icon.
