“Everyone’s talking about permaculture.

But what is it?

The answer is more complex than it might seem.

In this illuminating discussion-talk, “The Limits of Permaculture” we will explore both the conceptual limits of permaculture, and also the ecological / political / cultural limits to the fullest expression of what the notion of “permaculture” represents.

As always, we will explore a wide range of subjects, guided by the collective wisdom and inspiration of our group.”

This Thursday -- a special holiday Plant Aloha.

The story of a past and future golden age of symbiosis, harmony, freedom, and abundance is the central mythos of all human cultures. These myths provide an irresistible story of where we come from and where we are going, and are fundamental to our psychological development. But are they "true", or dangerous wishful fictions?

Weaving together the threads of mythology, biology, shamanism, mystical gnosis, ecology, anthropology, and permaculture, we will explore one of the most important of all questions – might a golden age have existed for all humans in the distant past, and if so, what do we do about it?

Guaranteed to change your life!

Amazing class this Thursday! Join us as we build a traditional Hawaiian Imu with our on-staff permaculture team, led by Mark and PIto.

An Imu works by steaming with volcanic stones in the earth, food wrapped in Ti and Banana leaves, and just the right kind of wood and fire safety measures in place.

We're building a long-term structure for our holiday events (Golden Light Feast on dec. 23rd) and future events, including weddings which we love ot host here.

You'll get a bit of hands-on experience with how this is built!

Gary Rosenberg of the Seeger Institute and Eden Farms is back with a deep dive into what we all need to be preparing for. Whether it's temporary economic disruption (like we're already seeing) or climate change, self-sufficiency and community network building are essential parts of farming here. How can we get our growing vibrant, lush, and feeding as many as possible?
