Great time to help your community and meet new friends.
- PAHRUMP OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE PARK -
Need help this Saturday
First off, thank you for your interest in advancing the progress of the Pahrump Off Highway Vehicle Park - that can't be overstated.
As discussed at the POHVPAC meeting on January 9th, there is a workshop next Saturday, 1/25 at 10:30AM at the Pahrump Off-Highway Vehicle Park site to construct fencing as Phase 1 of the Youth Track Soft Opening. Supplies have been confirmed by the town to be available by the date of the workshop. Specific details below.
Objective: Secure the perimeter of the Youth Track Soft Opening area in the Northeast corner of the property.
Install ~75 T-Posts, and ~800ft of field fencing
Install 16ft access gate, with cemented posts
Hang "No Trespassing" signs along the perimeter
When: Saturday January 25th, 10:30AM
Where: POHVP site - From Rt160, turn onto E. Dandelion Street, then left on Ironwood Ave. The area marked in red is parking, green is where we'll be working.
What to Bring: A desire to work, personal food/water, and PPE at your discretion (safety glasses, boots, gloves recommended).
Additional Tools / Equipment:
T-Post pounders are ideal, though a heavy mallet / mini sledge hammer will suffice.
Fencing pliers / t-post clip tools - linesman pliers can also be used.
Post hole diggers / shovels / digging bars for digging gate post holes - an auger has been requested from the town, but not yet confirmed.
Please Note: This is a workshop dedicated to a specific objective, and is not a POHVPAC meeting - the Advisory Committee is not permitted to take action on, deliberate or discuss agenda items outside of an official scheduled meeting.
Feel free to share this with anyone interested in lending a hand - the more volunteers we have, the more effective this workshop will be.
The next meeting of discussion is 6 Feb 530pm at the Veterans Cemetery building.
