I know things have been a bit quiet around here lately, but that hasn’t stopped me from taking a step back and admiring my beautiful babies 😊

I may not be where I want to be or even doing what I’d like to be doing with my program, but I’m still proud of how far I have come. And even though I haven’t had the time to dedicate to my breedings lately, it hasn’t deterred me from thinking about my future plans and admiring the work I have put into it thus-far.

I can’t even say that this time change is “for the birds” because I’m not even sure they are enjoying it 😂

However, I *AM* enjoying how these little white cockerels are filling out. Patience and trusting the process is vital because you may just miss out on an incredible bird if you don’t give them a chance to grow out.

I honestly never thought I would dabble in satin frizzle, but when I hatched my first from Silkies of Loxahatchee, I was IN LOVE 😍😍😍 Unfortunately I lost my first little pullet, Pinecone due to a tragic event, but I have the sweetest silkie friends who GIFTED me this beautiful boy also hatched from Silkies of Loxahatchee! I am going to use this darker boy, over my lighter NN girl, Reina, to hopefully create my “unicorn” — a buff satin frizzle NN! Wish me luck! 🤞🏼🍀☺️

Brought this little lady along to Tractor Supply Co. in Westlake, Florida for a bit of shopping! Our favorite location never disappoints — they always have exactly what we need (and usually a few extras we didn’t plan on 😂). Keeping our flock of silkies happy and healthy is always the top priority, and Nutrena Feed makes that so simple! The Ornamental Starter Grower is a big hit in our coop — perfect for both our chicks and young pullets. I wasn’t going to keep any more boys, but how can I resist this light blue, partially bearded, naked neck/showgirl 🩵 I wish my phone would accurately capture how beautiful his color is. I’m so excited to watch him grow 😍🥰 Was blue on my agenda? Absolutely not 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️
