My kids love a good old fashioned banana bread but I realized I hadn’t made it in years. So I got out an old church cookbook and went to work. It turns out all three recipes for a decent looking banana bread were submitted by a different Mrs Johnson. So I took all three Mrs. Johnson’s recipes and started on my very own version of Mrs. Johnson’s Banana Bread. When the cookbook you are using is the Swedish Church cookbook, the odds of every woman being Mrs. Johnson are fairly high. This turns out to be the ultimate banana bread thanks to Mrs Johnson, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Johnson. Recipe is on the blog! 🍌

I usually try to spend a few weeks every summer at the beach - the goal is six - this year I crammed all six weeks into three days. I thought summer was hard when my kids were little but the teenage years are definitely a doozy.

This morning my bridge group came over for a breakfast bridge because that’s literally the only time we had available to get together. ♥️♠️ It was a good reminder that making time for friends - any time you can find - is super important. ♦️♣️ It never hurts to be that over the top friend too.

Cocktail Friday 🌺 Our classic Boat Drink cocktail got an upgrade this week with 🍹 Cheers to a great summer weekend!! (I’ll be at a baseball field)

2 ounces Ron del Barrilito rum
Juice of one lime
Splash of pineapple juice

Shake over ice and serve up

Rum cocktail summer martini

Boat Drinks are mandatory when we’re in Hawaii - it’s a bunch of rum with a splash of pineapple and it’s delicious. Coming home, an upgrade with seemed called for - it’s a little classier when it’s in a martini glass. rum cocktail beach drink

Masters weekend is upon us! It’s the one time of the year I can tolerate watching golf. ⛳️ But also it’s an excuse for pimento cheese. So I’m in for that too.
