From birth to the age of 12 I was raised in Cypress Park, a barrio of Los Angeles. My mother listened to music from the 5th Dimension, Glenn Campbell, Frank Sinatra and Beetles; my oldest brother enjoyed KC and The Sunshine Band and George Benson and my other brother was into Parliament and Earth Wind and Fire. As the youngest of the family I had no say and was forced to listen to anything. But all in all it was a Cool mix of everything, wouldn't you say? We later moved to La Crescenta where I learned to appreciate Rock and Roll. Now that I'm looking back at these words That I sang a thousand times over I have to chuckle. For one, I had no idea what I was singing and two, I'm glad I wasn't highly influenced by the words. Lol! Music is such an awesome thing.

Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm a week late with my wishes but you see the Advertising business has been very busy. The New Year is starting out great! I'm excited to see the number of new businesses opening up in our area which include The second largest CarMax in the nation opening in PALMDALE in a few months, Papa Murphys Pizza on Rancho Vista Blvd and Blue Rhino on Sierra &Ave R just to name a few. The most common question asked when talking with owners about advertising is "How quickly can I get on the air?" Well it all depends. Once the agreements are signed I can have your commercials on the air within 2-4 days. Spanish ads take a little more time as copy needs to be translated and edited down to fit. I never imagined my "Life Career" would be in sales. Actually, that's a lie because I dreamed about it a lot as a kid. Everyday I watched Bewitched on television and everyday I saw Darren headed out to work (he was an advertising exec) with his, briefcase in tow to land "The big deal". That was good television and it was the seed that was planted 40 years ago. Being a salesman, sales person, sales executive (so many titles) is rough, especially in the beginning. I made lots of mistakes, TONS of them. There were many days that I felt defeated and considered throwing in the towel, but then I'd see my children's faces. I couldn't quit on them or on me, so I preservered. Sales isn't for everyone, but it is for me. I love solving problems, helping, being of service to others, making people happy and along the way making new friends. Ive learned many lessons through my years in sales and by far my most valuable one is to listen, to be a resource and not a sales pitch.
