Tonight, I reworked a photo of my Hela action figure that I took back in 2017. This shot of Hela was taken at my old library where there was a skylight. I used that light to create great highlights on the figure. The first two photos are my attempts to use Pixlr, Prequel and the Lightroom apps. Photos 3 and 4 are the same photos but 3 is the original version and 4 has the background removed. The last picture is from Gemini where I promoted it to remove the background, add an alien landscape, and add the sun at the tip of the sword. I didn’t ask it to add legs but it did. I also asked Gemini to give me details on how to do my own version using Pixlr. I think the results of the first two photos makes me proud of knowing that I don’t need a whole lot of equipment to create a photo in the first place. Tomorrow, I’ll post more pictures with the different filters I used. There’s a lot to choose from but you can let me know what works for you.

I’ve been working on making more space in my living room so I could play with my projector. During Covid, I got the projector to do movie nights outside with my family. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve used it and now for I’m seeing the fruits of my labor. I have Daybetter lightbulbs which I can control the colors and intensity of the bulbs. I also have a standing desk that I can adjust to be lower than the screen. Watching a bit of Star Trek on the wall feels brand new to me. I love this setup.

This morning, I stopped by work on this Labor Day to feed Scrappy. On top of that, my branch is closed this week due to HVAC repairs. I am taking the week off but I’m not stopping this responsibility. I did my walk after seeing Scrappy. I managed to do three miles this morning but had an aching back and low energy. Making the effort and commitment is what is important. Tomorrow, I’m gearing up for my annual physical and later this week booster shots for the flu and Covid. I’m doing what I need to do to stay strong mentally and physically.

Dolly is gone. I was watching the Today show the other day where they mentioned her absence via her press release which mentioned about her health issues. One of my colleagues had a family issue that warranted her father to go to the er for further test and observations. With all this said, I lost my stepfather who suffered a brain aneurysm. I drove him to the hospital but it was he beyond help. He was never the type to complain about his health and when I got that call from my mom about my stepfather, I knew it was beyond serious. I’ve been trying to get myself to walk and move and potentially run again like I used to. Today was a rough day and I didn’t want to end my day with sadness. I walked 3 miles which on top of my activities, I was able to close all the rings on my fitness app. At the end, I caught a glimpses of the moon and saw this shot. I didn’t want this moment to pass me by. Recently, I’m another year and closing on a big milestone next year. I have to keep moving and achieve small wins along the way. The last five years, I have achieved so much and have lots of personal and professional projects still ahead of me. I hope to give you more details soon. In the meantime, don’t waste time. If you’re reading this, you’re alive. Make the best of your situation even if you don’t feel it and take a moment to see the world around you.
