Synopsys grew 42% last quarter, and the stock is up about 10% today.

Revenue of $2.48 billion, up from $1.74 billion a year ago. Adjusted earnings of $3.91 a share against $3.67 expected. Full-year guidance raised.

You’ve probably never heard of Synopsys. Almost every advanced chip in the world is designed with its software.

Aart de Geus founded it in 1986 and ran it for nearly 38 years. He told Jodi that nothing in this industry is one company’s work: “Everything we do is a team. It’s not an additive team. It’s a multiplicative team.”

NVIDIA’s revenue doubled in a year: $96.2 billion last quarter, up 106%. Data center did $89 billion of it.

Next quarter they’re guiding to $108 billion — and that number assumes zero data center compute revenue from China.

Jensen: “AI has reached its inflection point. Now, compute is revenue.”

AMD just posted the biggest quarter in its history.

Revenue of $11.5 billion, up 50% year over year. Adjusted earnings of $1.66 a share, ahead of expectations. Data center is now 58% of everything the company sells — three years ago it was about a quarter. Guidance for next quarter came in at $13 billion, above what analysts were modeling.

None of this happened quickly. When Lisa Su took over in 2014, AMD was written off as a permanent also-ran to Intel and Nvidia. She told Jodi Shelton that anybody hoping for a fast turnaround was going to be disappointed — the rebuild ran through the Zen architecture, then EPYC in the data center, then a decade of compounding before the AI moment arrived.

The record quarter is what patience looks like on a balance sheet.

Intel just posted its fastest revenue growth in fifteen years.

Fiscal Q2 2026, reported today: $16.1 billion in revenue, up 25% from a year ago — the biggest jump since 2011. Data Center and AI revenue climbed 59% to $6.3 billion. Adjusted earnings came in at $0.42 a share against expectations of $0.22, and the company says it is now supply constrained, with customers asking for more than it can build.

The man behind the turnaround is Lip-Bu Tan, who took over as CEO in March 2025 — and he is our first guest of Season 2.

Follow so you don’t miss it.

onsemi is making a $7 billion bet on Physical AI.

Announced today, June 25: onsemi is acquiring Synaptics in an all-stock deal, paying 1.350 onsemi shares for each Synaptics share — about a 19% premium. Both boards have unanimously approved it.

The logic: combine onsemi’s power and sensing strength with Synaptics’ edge AI, connectivity, and interface tech to lead in “Physical AI” — machines that sense, decide, act, and adapt in the real world. The deal expands onsemi’s addressable market by $30 billion, to $243 billion by 2030.

On A Bit Personal, CEO Hassane El-Khoury told Jodi where he’s steering the company next.
