Well Dexter is a fish storm and being swept out to sea just like at the end of the TV show lol. Nothing to worry about there.

The little yellow area is now at 30% in the next 7 days. Models are showing some development and bringing it into the east coast. Theres no closed low or anything right now so we will have to keep an eye on it and wait until it develops, if it develops to see where it may or may not go. For now no need to worry.

And now lets talk about the area out in the MDR. The fb pages are all over this and theyre already sharing a landfalling hurricane 10 to 13 days out. These fear mongering pages live for this exact moment. Please dont buy into any page thats saying there's for certain going to be a hurricane and a landfall in a specific area. It is WAY TOO EARLY TO PREDICT. Yes there is an area as shown by the NHC that needs to be watched. The models aren't in agreement at all. Its 10+ days out, which means take everything you read and see on fb and social media with a grain of salt. Nobody not even the computer models can predict anything that far out with any kinda accuracy. As we get towards the end of the week maybe we will have a better perspective on what may or may not be forming out there. We will keep everyone updated on this area. Once again please dont buy into the fear mongering pages and click bait youre seeing all over social media.

Hope everyone is enjoying their rainy Monday here in the panhandle.

Well now we're up to 70% chance for development off the Carolina coast, there's another area thats new thats highlighted at 20% and our area in the MDR is now at 40%. This map may seem scary but nothing brewing to be overly concerned about. This just shows that were at that point in the season that the Atlantic can wakeup really fast and storms can start forming one after another. All 3 of these potential systems will most likely pose no threat to land "if" they even form into a tropical system. We will keep you updated tho in case things change.

Well our little area off the Carolina coast has 50% chance of development. Another disorganized, sloppy system that may get a name right as its being swept out to sea. Seems to be a recurring theme this year. Next name on the list is Dexter. Nothing to be worried about. Maybe some strong rip currents if you live along the East Coast.

There is another area highlighted in the MDR region of the Atlantic. Models aren't overly aggressive on this either. Just something to keep an eye on. If it does form the current thinking is that it curves out into the Altantic and will pose no threat. Too far out to be certain on the fine details.

So in closing we remain relatively quiet. The season is chugging along but we're headed into the heart of Hurricane season so id expect activity to start ramping up soon. Until then enjoy the quiet thats been the story of this season so far!

NHC has highlighted an area off the Carolina coast. Chances are low, models aren't aggressive, seems like we've seen this show play out before. Most likely won't form but we will keep an eye on it.

Looking long range there is some signs of life out there in the models but way too far out to be concerned about. We still have a long ways to go so dont let your guard down and think this season is a bust. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend! Gonna be a hot one, shocker!

Massive 8.7 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Russia has triggered a tsunami warning for Hawaii and most areas in the Pacific. Also along the west coast. Russia is reporting a tsunami wave of approximately 4m (13 feet) was observed. Very serious situation unfolding now. Estimated to arrive in Hawaii at 7:17 local time there which is 12:17am CT here.

Has anyone noticed if its hot outside? 🤣🤣🥵🥵🥵 The heat index on my home weather station currently says 126°F. Its like being cremated when you walk outside. Brutal heat. Luckily we will get some relief from the heat in the form of rain in the next few days. Until then stay hydrated out there.

Today will be the hottest day of the year for many. Temps all in and around Florida will be at , near or above 100°F with heat indexes easily hitting 110°F+. Stay hydrated out there and find the shade! Hope everyone has an amazing week and stays cool! Very small chance of a pop storm today so we won't get any reprieve from the heat that way. We will keep everyone updated on the Tropics and local weather.
