Constantly greasy hair

I am so frustrated with my thin/fine hair I want to cry and shave it all off. It’s always greasy and I feel like I look like balding swamp witch all the time. If I wash it at night, I’m a slimy greaseball by the next morning. If I wash it in the morning, I’m greasy by the mid-afternoon. It only takes a matter of hours for it to go from clean and soft (and a little fluffy) to greasy, slimy, and stuck to my scalp.

My confidence is way down because of it and I think it’s also causing issues with my skin (if I keep my hair off my face, my skin improves).

I’m hoping someone can help me with some advice or product help or something that will allow me to be able to wash my hair and be able to leave it without emptying half a bottle of dry shampoo into it to cover the greasiness.

Currently using: Eleven Volumising Shampoo + Conditioner (only condition the ends from ears down) Hazel&Blondie Heat protection spray (Hair dyer on low heat)

Products I’ve been using/cycling through recently that don’t seem to have helped: Eleven Volume Foam (on roots) NAK Volume foam (on roots) EVO Salty Dog Salt Spray (all over before blow drying) Eleven texture spray (just on front)

Products that help but only cover the issue, not fix it: Eleven Volume Powder Batiste dry shampoo

I need help with what to do so I can get out of the cycle of:

Washing my hair only for it to be greasy as hell fewer than 12 hours later.

Having to fill it with powders and dry shampoo because it’s so greasy.

Washing it the next day because it’s full of products.

Repeat, repeat, repeat

Forever grateful for anyone that can help me out here.

TLDR: feel like I’ve tried everything to improve my scalp but nothing works!

Hey, I didn’t know where else to go tried to find a scalp page but couldn’t! Long story short I’ve suffered with awful dandruff my whole life (uk) and nothing works when growing up would use the t gel or vosene. It calmed down during my late teens but as I got older it got worse. Everyone always suggests Nizoral but that doesn’t work for me. I try all shampoos & conditioner for at least 8 months before I stop using them/ change, I give them a chance to work because I know miracles don’t happen over night. Every shampoo I use doesn’t work. I’ve tried ‘natural’, vegan and some at home shampoos/ conditioner. I’ve tried washing my hair everyday and also tried only washing it 1x a week. I don’t use any unnecessary product on my scalp or really hair apart from oiling the ends. I don’t know what else to say really other than if anyone has any ideas, even if maybe I’ve tried them before I’d still like to hear please.

Help me this on scalp

What on earth is this on my scalp?

Ive had flaky dry scalp for a while now and used to get alot of flakes dropping on my shoulders and on my pillow.

If I just massage my scalp, I get alot of snowfall and honestly its quite disturbing.

Recently it started to get alot and I thought of shaving my entire head only to discover how bad it was. Even the barbar got scared and refused to shave it entirely.

I am now on a mission to fix this so a little guidance would be appreciated.

With a quick search on google, seems like psoriasis or sebderm, not sure.

Why is my scalp turning grey??

Hiya,

I’m not sure what’s happening and I don’t have money or insurance for a dermatologist rn. I get these scaly patches and I remove them but by the next day they’re back. For a couple of weeks they were on my nostrils and inner ear as well but thank god that’s calmed down a bit. I’ve tried Nizoral, Sulfur 8, scalp oils, increasing water intake, but I have no clue what’s happening rn.

Has this happened to anyone else’s scalp? What did you do to fix it?

18M - Receding hairline, super oily hair but dry itchy Scalp.

Hey everyone, I’m 18M and lately I’ve been getting really stressed about my hair. My hairline seems to be receding slowly from the front/temples and my hair gets oily VERY fast, sometimes within a day. But at the same time my scalp feels dry, itchy, and irritated which makes no damn sense 💀

Because of this, almost no hairstyle looks good on me anymore. My hair either looks flat and greasy or frizzy and weird. It’s honestly affecting my confidence a lot.

A few things about me:

* I don’t use much heat styling

* I shampoo regularly but maybe I’m doing something wrong

* Sometimes I scratch my scalp because of the itching

* Stress/sleep might also be part of it

I wanted to ask:

* Has anyone dealt with oily hair + dry itchy scalp together?

* Could this be dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, or early hair loss?

* Any shampoos, routines, oils, or lifestyle changes that actually helped?

* What hairstyles work for a slightly receding hairline at a young age?

Would really appreciate genuine advice because this sh*t’s been bothering me for months now.

Need some advice for scalp care

Attached pic isn’t great but really struggling to get this under control. It flares up when I shave my head but I generally need to shave my head!

I’ve got a selenium sulfide shampoo which I’ve used for the first time today and in the UK we have a company called seb who make an oil so I use that after shower

It starts to go like this event when wet and in the shower !

Hair loss or very thinned hair??

Hi! 25F here. My hair has been medium thin for all my life. Very straight and flat, though it gets knots pretty easily for some reason. The past few years I’ve noticed that I can see my scalp on the front area of my head. It’s definitely noticeable under bright lights when up or down (definitely more when it’s up though) & when I wear my hair up I have to wrap the hair tie about 3 times now to make it stay.

I was wondering if you think this is hair loss or just gradually thinned hair? Also looking for any advice on what you think I can do to fix it.

Also disregard my red scalp, I went swimming recently and it got burned 😅

Help with scalp damage

Hi all, I’ve been growing my fade out for a while because I liked to style it but I am at a crossroads. I used got2bglue hairspray and I think it chemically burned my scalp. The hair from the center of my head is falling out rapidly and my hair has thinned considerably in the last year. I now usually wear hats or wrap my head because I hate the way it looks.

I have been using coconut miracle oil (supposed damage recovery) and HNP placenta but haven’t noticed much of a change. The challenging part is the sides and back of my head still grow thick and dark like normal so I’m at a loss of where to go besides shaving it all off.

Any help would be appreciated.
