Another fun Monday Club meeting. December's program featured the storytelling skills of Colleen Craig and Jean Moelter. Colleen shared thoughts about her encounter with Laura Huxley and Jean told a hilarious story about parenting gone wrong on the high seas. The decorating committee, once again, brought holiday glamor to the room!

Scott Harrison has captured the 2025 Cambria Scarecrows in a beautiful style!

The Cambria Scarecrow Festival started in 2009 with 30 scarecrows. Today, it's about 200. The festival has been reported in publications worldwide.

He made it to Cambria! I'd like to thank Jonathan and Sandy Mumper (Edward Jones Financial Advisor Sandy Cha) for sponsoring The Hitchhiker and supporting the Cambria Scarecrows Festival! I also took a few pics of other scarecrows - but there are more! My fingers are crossed that my Hitchhiker will sail through the wind and maybe a few rain showers in October. Another big "thank you" goes to Scotty for helping with the obstacles along the way. 🙂

The Hitchhiker began his journey this morning making his way to the Cambria Scarecrows Festival. From October 1 - 31, he will be trying to thumb a ride in front of the Edward Jones office located at 1073 Main Street. Big thanks goes to Edward Jones for sponsoring!

"The Hitchhiker" is a little closer to coming to life for the Cambria Scarecrows Festival in October. I was going to use a bowler hat, but the fedora looks better. I used an air dry clay called DAS for his skin and I really loved using it! He has to dry for a few days before I can paint. Then it's lots of sealing with Mod Podge.

While I work on a "behind the scenes" documentary about Wine Country Theatre and Little Shop of Horrors, I'm also back working on my Hitchhiker for the Cambria Scarecrows Festival. I just finished the left hand and the right hand is not far behind. Next it's the frame and starting the head!
