I've been working on this 3-part series for a couple of years gathering up the b-roll. It's a partnership with Wine Country Theatre and the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education - and it's been a blast! The series explores what it takes to produce community theatre. Coming in August 2026!

It's scary to jump in and put skin on the face. This was a big hurdle for me, but now she'll need maybe a week to dry and then it's paintin' time.

I've made some progress on my "Witch You Were Here" duo for the 2026 Cambria Scarecrows Festival. The flying monkey that sits on her shoulder is almost done (need to make his wings). I like how he turned out especially the hat and little black sweater! One of the photos shows how he is sitting on her shoulder with his tail on her hand. Currently, I'm working on the witch's head and hat. I decided to ditch the traditional pointed hat and go with a more late Victorian style. She gets skin on her face this week. My goal is to be done by mid June at the latest!

Along the way, he drags his agent, his acting rival, his bombshell girlfriend and his ex-wife into the journey, in a wildly twisting tale of Hollywood, the afterlife, and how we are judged.

My scarecrow for the upcoming 2026 Cambria Scarecrows Festival is coming along! Imagine if Dorothy had never landed in Oz and the Wicked Witch lived a long, terrifying, life. That's the story behind "Witch You Were Here." The crow will feature the Wicked Witch and a flying monkey sitting on her shoulder. I bought a small alien skeleton on clearance after Halloween and it really helped with placing the monkey. The face is made with paper mache and Das air dry clay. The eyes and teeth are Sculpey III baked clay. He'll have to dry a week or so before painting, but I think he's got an interesting face. Next up, making those flying monkey wings.

I've started my Scarecrow for the Cambria Scarecrows Festival 2026. I think she'll be called "Witch You Were Here." She's inspired by Oz with a flying monkey on her shoulder. I picked up a small alien skeleton after Halloween and it's really helped me to place the monkey body on the frame.

Another fun Monday Club meeting. December's program featured the storytelling skills of Colleen Craig and Jean Moelter. Colleen shared thoughts about her encounter with Laura Huxley and Jean told a hilarious story about parenting gone wrong on the high seas. The decorating committee, once again, brought holiday glamor to the room!
