The Pawling Library is holding its annual book sale the first two weekends in September and we need volunteers to help with set up and break down. This is a great opportunity for teens to earn community service hours!! The sale will take place in the Lathrop Building at Lakeside Park.
Set up is Thursday, Sep 2nd (10:00 – 5:00) and Friday, Sep 3rd (9:00 – 4:00). Breakdown is Sunday, Sep 12th, starting at 3 pm. Volunteers can come at any time during these hours. It would be helpful if we know ahead of time how many people we might expect but it's ok if volunteers stop by when they find time. Please contact Stephanie McLaughlin at 914-474-3320 (you can text this number) or [email protected] with any questions. Thanks so much for your help!!

We're getting ready for FREE school meals!

***While there are no income qualifications this year for free school meals, we are still asking you to fill out our family application to support school funding.

***Check out our packed lunch add on. We know some students just prefer their lunch from home, but you can still take advantage of free school meals! Just select a milk, fruit, and vegetable to complete your meal from home, and it's FREE!

***Remember to check the status of student lunch account balances so that a la carte purchases can be made. Our students love our healthy snack and beverage options, and our older students love adding on an additional entrée like a second slice of pizza. Just a reminder that charging a la carte purchases are not permitted, but MySchoolBucks can alert you when your student's funds are getting low.

So today I've heard that the Famers market is to be moved up to Lakeside this Summer, this is DEVASTATING news and will affect business's in Pawling that are already suffering hugely. I'm told its because of the strict guidelines from NYS about distancing - I get that and would be the first to say that we have to be safe - However the market doesn't take up the whole Green. Surely with a bit of creative thinking and advanced planning we can utilize the space that we have to keep the Market in the Village. That way everyone can benefit from the increased footfall on a Saturday morning. Please add your comments to this post and let’s see what opinions are out there so that we can tackle the next phase of this pandemic in a way that helps as many merchants as possible
