CEO of Voice of Liberia Sekou Sheriff writes:

"I give thanks and praises to Allah for what we just experienced at my compound.

Few minutes ago while sitting at the front of the yard in my fence, I heard a very high hit on my gate.

While trying to find out, I heard Armed police officers shouting and demanding that my security open the gate. In such period, I instrusted the security not to heed to their instruction because it was during the night hours.

They couldn't say what exactly they were requesting to have my gate opened. Their actions put us in serious fear and panic.

I immediately called the Inspector General of the LNP Gregory Coleman but he didn't answer and I phoned Oldman Sam Saryon and he immediately spoke with LNP 102 Nelson Freeman, right after, I received a call from Nelson Freeman and he did his best. Later, we noticed that they left.

Note: If I have done anything unlawful that the police think they could visit my home at night and displaced such horrible action in order to make me answer to whatsoever, I'm calling on them to kindly invite me and I will make myself available. By visiting my compound at such time during the night hours, and hitting my gate to have it opened in such way with the huge presence of armed men is totally wrong.

I am a peaceful citizen and I have never been involved in any acts contrary to the laws of Liberia. As I write, I don't know what will be their next action. Thanks to all that made efforts when I noticed such unbelievable act by the police recently at my home. I am still in shock."
