Our #TBT this week is a look back at the pop-up Poppin' Lot show in Austin, TX for our client FlashParking during SXSW.
This show turned a regular parking lot in the middle of the city into a concert featuring local bands, a live mural painting, bar and much more. We're excited to see how the Poppin' Lot grows next year!

Music Matters Productions used three disguise vx 2s to power around 25,251,840 pixels of LED used during the show's general session which included the Time Dealer of the Year Award Ceremony and the outgoing and new Chairmen's Address.

I had a ball whilst on stage I drank like 4 white claws like a middle aged white woman and had fun.

The Eastern, a 37,000 square-foot performance venue in Atlanta, required a lighting rig that was visually striking but also cost-effective and adaptable to any genre or event. After many trials and A/B tests with numerous brands, Music Matters Productions (MMP) installed the latest cutting-edge Martin Professional lighting solutions ahead of the venue’s highly anticipated opening last fall.
For the indoor stage, the lighting rig includes several Martin ERA 800 Profile and ERA 600 Performance fixtures. Additionally, 22 Martin MAC Aura PXL multi-source wash lights were installed throughout the main stage’s rig. Rounded out by six Martin RUSH static LED audience blinders located downstage, the resulting rig is an immersive and visually stunning showcase of some of the most impressive lighting technology on the market today.
“We saw the full rig turn on for the first time recently; it was visually a sight to see with your own eyes. Martin has been a brand that we have trusted and kept in our inventory since the inception of Music Matters. When Music Matters Productions installed sound at the newly-opened ‘The Eastern’ in Atlanta, they faced a unique challenge: how to provide even SPL in an asymmetric room with the house-right wall at a full 45-degree angle to the stage?
“The K2 system with Kara II downfills turned into the most accurate, but also the most easily deployable system that we could propose to the venue,” explains Music Matters’ Director of Special Projects Nauman Lalani as he and Director of Marketing Lindsay Schwartz share insights on how the team used Panflex and Soundvision to optimize sound at Atlanta’s hottest new music venue. “The Eastern’s L-Acoustics speakers are amazing. The top of the system is throwing almost 200 feet to the back of the room, so we needed a large-format box for that and to reach our SPL goal. We tested the system once we set it up and we were far exceeding that goal at 80 percent with no problem, so there’s lots of power and headroom,” says Nauman Lalani, Director of Special Projects for Music Matters Productions.
The Eastern a state-of-the-art music and event venue in the Dairies complex, a curated mix of specialty shopping, dining, and entertainment venues, all connected by greenspace in Atlanta. What The Eastern also has is an L-Acoustics K2 PA system that guarantees exceptional sound and coverage for every kind of artist the venue hosts, and a smaller A Series system to extend that same sonic consistency and quality for musicians playing up on the top floor.

Celebrating Shabbat in the beautiful outdoors surrounded by this diverse Neranenah community was such a fantastic way to kick off our Summer Series. Thank you to everyone who came out and to our performers Micah Lapidus and Hello, Goodbye & Peace Ensemble. On Saturday night, Duchess had us all swinging in our seats with their tight harmonies and delightful stage presence— what a treat to experience their performance of the Jewish American Songbook in a sold-out crowd! And there was no better way to end the Summer Series than an evening full of laughs provided by Eddie Brill and Judy Gold! And we can’t forget our wonderful opening acts, the talented teens Hayley Eve and Mara Mershon!
