🚨My Credit Tip for today

IF YOU RECEIVE A STALL LETTER

A stall letter means the bureau is trying to:

• Delay investigation

• Ask for unnecessary info

• Avoid reinvestigating properly

🚨 Do NOT restart the dispute

Instead:

• Respond using the stall letter law-based response

• Re-assert your rights under FCRA §611

• Force compliance within their legal timeframe

Know your rights:

• FCRA §611(a)(1): Bureaus have 30 days to reinvestigate

• FCRA §611(a)(2): If they need info, they must clearly say what’s missing within 5 days

• FCRA §611(a)(6): They must provide investigation results — a stall letter doesn’t count

• FCRA §607(b): They must follow reasonable procedures for accuracy

What to do instead:

✅ Respond with a law-based stall letter response

✅ Re-assert your original dispute

✅ Keep the clock running

✅ Force compliance — don’t reset timelines
