Ran by CVS this afternoon because there were just so many good deals this week! I did four transactions and rolled the Extra Care Bucks I earned from each transaction into the next one.

1st transaction: 2 Softsoap body washes
Retail $13.18 paid $7.42
2nd transaction: 3 Crest toothpastes
Retail $14.07 paid $2.97
3rd transaction: 2 - 9-mega roll packs of Cottonelle Retail $33.58 paid $12.98
4th transaction: 1 - 88oz Gain Liquid (original scent, the only Gain scent I like) and 1 - 31-count Gain Flings Retail: $32.28 paid $6!

If you’re curious, I started with zero Extra Care Bucks and ended with none. I used all the ones I earned today, which was $14, on purchases made today.

This week’s CVS haul!
Retail price: $100.98
I paid: $38.07! ❤️❤️

Favorite purchase was the BIG bottle of Tide which was priced at $17.99 and the BIG bottle of Downy priced at 15.49 - $33.48 for the both of them. By using my extra care card I got $5 off the Tide and there was a $3 digital coupon in the CVS app. Downy was an extra $2.50 off for using my extra care card and a $2 digital coupon. I also paid in part with $7 extra care bucks making my total out of pocket for these two items $13.98 + I got back an additional $7 extra care bucks to use on another purchase.

It’s not hard! Who wants to go next week?

𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝑪𝑶𝑼𝑷𝑶𝑵?

I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my grandmother when I was not even a teenager and we’d go through the Sunday paper and clip all the coupons, then match them to the weekly sales.

Since then, I have couponed. Sometimes a lot and sometimes not very much. Because it was a good bit of work. Time consuming.

But now? It’s so much easier. Most stores have their own apps with digital coupons that make it incredibly easy! My favorites are CVS and Publix. Expensive places to shop…UNLESS you are using coupons and good ol’ common sense.

Here is an example of something I picked up today at Walgreens — an easy deal that anyone with a phone and Walgreens app can do.

I saw Tide 34 fl oz liquid was on sale for $5.49 and in the Walgreens app there was a $1 off coupon which I clipped. That made it $4.49. I had some Walgreens Cash Rewards sitting in my account from a deal I did weeks ago so I used $4 from that and was left to pay 49¢ (2¢ per load). It took me about three minutes to run in, grab the Tide, go to the checkout and put my phone number in, pay and leave.

If you are interested in more deals like this one, like and follow and I’ll start posting more!

✨ Continuing with the Side Hustle Series:

💰 Many folks today have a side hustle. Some are trying to get out of debt while others are saving for something special (vacation, new vehicle, house, etc.).

📌 If you are following along, this is the THIRD post in this series. I talked about reselling in my FIRST post.

🧺 SECOND post was about taking in laundry and there’s apparently a BIG need for help in this area. Lots of ladies (and probably men too) are making some good extra money doing it.

✏️ Today I want to mention one that I think may be overlooked. Tutoring.

🫶🏻 Key traits to do well with this side hustle:
• If you are really good with a specific subject or two, then offer to tutor the school grades that correspond to what you feel comfortable teaching. You’ll be most successful in an area where you have expertise.
• Decide the times you’ll have available to offer your services and start advertising those time slots in increments of 30 minutes to an hour depending on the subject(s). Also, check with other tutors in your area and see what the going rate is for private tutors (not company’s who tutor).
• Look through your friends and see who might be a teacher and let them know what you’re offering. They are a good referral source. Other ideas to fill those slots would be: making a social media post so friends and family can think of you when someone asks if anyone knows a tutor; have some inexpensive business cards printed and leave some with school counselors, teachers and in libraries; and let people at church and in other groups know what you’re offering. You’ll be surprised how many people are looking for tutors for their children.
• Consider tutoring in a library (most have cubicles available) instead of your home. The atmosphere is more professional and will ease the mind of parents whose children will be your students.

Have you guys ever tried these? HALLS Shower Melts Mentho-Lyptus scented are PERFECT for winter when the indoor heat is drying us out and sinuses are going crazy. They have in-shower v***r action that I absolutely love! Easy to use? The easiest! Throw one of the steamers into your shower where the warm water will activate soothing v***rs. For me, it feels like my shower is a steam room!

Oh, I found them at TJ Maxx at $7.99 for a pack of 10!

My husband and I have a local Mexican restaurant that we love, but we don’t order typical food that you’d think. We always get their Grilled Tilapia with grilled veggies and rice. And, we split it. Much healthier and absolutely delicious!

What is your go-to order at a Mexican restaurant?

✨ Continuing with the Side Hustle Series:

💰 Have you got a side hustle? So many people do these days. Some are trying to pay off debt or just get by while others are saving for a big purchase or vacation. No matter your reason, there are lots of opportunities available.

📌 If you are following along, this is the SECOND post in this series. I talked about reselling in my first post, so go back and read that one if you haven’t already.

🧺 Taking in laundry. Most days I feel like I can barely keep up with my own, but I have seen several ladies turn other people’s laundry into some serious money.

🫶🏻 Key traits to do well with this side hustle:
• Make some decisions so that you are treating all customers fairly…such as how you’ll price your service (by the pound is a good way) and when/how you will receive payment.
• Post regularly to gain a following of folks who use or want your service. And remember, word of mouth is your best advertisement.
• Communicate clearly in writing to each new customer when and where drop offs and pickups will occur so that there is NO miscommunication and you don’t have people running in and out of your house all day.
• Thank your customers each time they trust you with their laundry. This will go miles for your reputation.

more like a home? Having a baked treat sitting on the kichen counter? Throw blankets on the sofa? Music in the background? Fresh flowers in random places?

💰 I thought this might be a good place to talk about SIDE HUSTLES. So many folks have them because they simply need some extra cash.

❤️ In this series, I’ll outline some of the ones I consider to be legitimate and some I even do myself. Like this one, reselling.

📚 👠 👗 I resell clothing, shoes, books, household items and more. It started with items my kids and grandkids outgrew, but were still in good condition. I have added to that by frequenting yard sales, thrifting and retail arbitrage (fancy words for buying retail — clearance, sales, going out of business, etc.) — and reselling those items.

💵 Where do I sell them? Sometimes I offer to friends through a simple FB post - I mostly do this with children’s clothing in really good condition. I also take things to places like Once Upon a Child and Plato’s Closet where they will pay you for clothing if it’s in good condition, modern (nothing dated or with flaws). I also sell on platforms such as Poshmark and Mercari, and sometimes on FB Marketplace. These platforms handle sales tax for you and that is worth it in my opinion.

🫶🏻Key traits that I think help myself and other resellers WIN are:
• Consistency in both sourcing and posting items for sale.
• Picking up quality items (good material and sizes makes me more most of the time than only picking up the most expensive, popular items).
• Staying organized. Don’t make it to complex and find what works BEST for YOU!
