“Love yourself.”
We hear it all the time but for years, I didn’t actually get what that meant.
I used to think self-love was a magical feeling that would finally show up once I hit my goal weight…
Once I felt confident enough in my clothes…
Once I looked a certain way in the mirror.
But I’ve hit those goals and still picked myself apart.
Still felt like I wasn’t enough.
Still chased the next thing, hoping that would finally make me feel good in my body.
That’s when I realized:
Self-love isn’t a destination.
It’s an action.
When we think about how we love others our kids, partners, closest friends….
Or my sister (who’s in this pic)…
It’s not just a feeling.
It’s something we do.
It’s how we support them, speak to them, and show up even when it’s hard.
And it’s no different with ourselves.
Loving yourself looks like:
🔥 Fueling your body instead of punishing it
🔥 Lifting weights to build strength, not just burn calories
🔥 Saying no to what drains you
🔥 Resting without guilt
🔥 Speaking to yourself with compassion, especially when you mess up
Self-love isn’t something you earn once you “fix” yourself.
It’s something you practice every day.
And that’s exactly what I had to learn myself and now teaching my clients.
We don’t just chase fat loss.
We build habits rooted in self-respect not self-rejection.
Because the goal isn’t just to shrink your body.
It’s to finally feel at home in it. ❤️
