Tropics are starting to heat up this week. There’s 3 areas of interest and it looks like one just became a tropical storm.

So let’s talk tropical storms. A tropical cyclone (storm) is a rapidly rotating storm system that forms over tropical or subtropical waters and is characterized by low pressure, strong winds, and heavy rain. They are also known as hurricanes or typhoons, depending on the region. Tropical cyclones are warm-core, non-frontal systems that can range in size from 124–621 miles in diameter. They are fueled by heat energy extracted from warm ocean waters and export heat into the upper troposphere.

In layman’s terms, the heat from the ocean fuels these huge storms and this is the time of year they form. The ocean has heated up and is maintaining a steady temperature to fuel these storms. I’m watching this little area of thunderstorms by the Carolina’s right now that is forecast to become a tropical low in the next week. It’s slowly moving northwest and we could see some small development in the coming days

Notice the haze? Well we got more wildfire smoke in the air. An air quality advisory is in effect for us. Anyone with respiratory problem should stay indoors if possible.

Wilmington's temperature has dipped below 70 degrees F for the first time in 58 days. This is tied for the second longest streak of 70+ low temps since records began here in 1874.

This is a little odd to post here but since I use mine for weather, maybe someone will want it.

Looking to sell one of my old drones. DJI Mini 4 pro comes with 4 batteries (each lasting about 30 minutes) controller, case and battery charger. Kit goes for $1200, I’ll take $600. I also have the FPV headset and flight stick I’ll sell for $400.

Shoots in 4k/60fps and you dont need a license

I don’t have pictures right now but they are in great condition.
