Traditional beignets, Cinnaswirl beignets, Nutella frappe and cookie butter latte were on the menu for us!

Right on the harbor, it’s a great spot to see fish and birds.

It’s time for the Illinois State Fair! Here’s some of my favorite memories from last year. We can’t wait to get back next week! Here are some things going on that you should know!

- TODAY (Thursday, August 7) The Double the Fun parking promotion! If you pay to park on the Illinois State Fairgrounds on August 7, you will receive free parking on a return trip to the fair on the following Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

- “Twosday” will feature $2 admission for seniors and adults on Tuesday, August 12. To enhance this family-friendly promotion, North American Midway, the fair’s carnival operator, will also offer all rides at $2 each. This is in addition to honoring all Mega Passes and Jumbo Passes sold before and during the fair.

- Big Top Adventures will offer free performances daily in Happy Hollow at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The 800-seat circus will feature jugglers, clowns, trapeze artists and many other performers.

Such a fun time of the year! We’re always on the lookout for the best foodie items, too 👀

Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park in Fort Walton Beach, Florida is a fantastic place for families to visit.

🐬🐬🐬 Dolphin Oasis opened in 2024. The 2-acre area has three viewing habitats, dolphin presentations, more than 1 million gallons of water, and lets you interact with the dolphins!

🌊 Manatee Cove offers three levels of viewing the manatees. I love seeing these sea animals! Manatee Cove houses rescued manatees in need of extended care.

Other sea creature highlights:

🐢 Sea turtles!
🦈 Sharks!
🐊 Alligators!
🐍 Ssssssssnakes!
🐧 Penguins!
🦭 Sea lions!
🐟🐠🐡 Fish, of course!
